- The Philippine National Police remained on alert as Filipino Muslims celebrated Eid'l Fitr or the end of Ramadan. Police General Oscar Albayalde, PNP Chief, extended his holiday greetings to the Muslim brothers and sisters in the country as he called for the peaceful celebration of Eid’l Fitr.

- The Philippine Army said everyone is welcome to join the Army and make a stand for his or her country. Army Spokesman Lt. Col. Ramon P. Zagala made the remark as actor and Army reservist Probationary 2nd Lieutenant Matteo Guidicelli formally started his Leadership Development Course at the First Scout Ranger Regiment, Camp Tecson, Bulacan on Monday, June 3, 2019.

- Some 1,129 barangay officials were asked to provide justifiable reasons for their non-compliance with a directive compelling them to participate in the Manila Bay clean-up.

- The White House again directed former employees not to cooperate with a congressional investigation, this time instructing former aides Hope Hicks and Annie Donaldson to defy subpoenas and refuse to provide documents to the House Judiciary Committee.

- US President Donald Trump, Queen Elizabeth II, and 300 veterans are to gather on the south coast of England for a poignant ceremony marking the 75th anniversary of D-Day. Other world leaders will join them in Portsmouth for Britain’s national event to commemorate the Allied invasion of the Normandy beaches — one of the turning points of World War II.

- Under pressure after a deadly season on traffic-clogged Mount Everest, Nepal is considering tightening access to the world’s highest peak, but mountaineering experts fear the proposed changes could amount to little more than lip service.

- US Republicans, including allies of the Trump administration warned against the threat to slap tariffs on Mexican imports, warning the move did not have Congress support. Mexican and American officials were holding crunch talks in Washington on how to avoid the tariffs, which Trump said will go into effect on June 10 unless Mexico shows it is substantially reducing the flow of undocumented migrants to the southern US border.
