- Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte said that America wants wars to continue just so other countries will buy their arms. In a speech in General Santos City, Duterte said that the United States cannot afford for wars to end because a lot of their citizens will lose jobs.

- Balanga Bishop Ruperto C. Santos, chairman of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines-Episcopal Commission on Migrants and Itinerant People has issued a prayer for the safety of overseas Filipino workers in Hong Kong as he reminded them “to stay safe amid the tension and protests against the extradition bill.”

- The Land Transportation Office has announced that the public can now process applications for student permits or renewal of driver’s licenses in malls every Saturday starting this month.

- The US military released a video late on Thursday that it said showed Iran’s Revolutionary Guard removing an unexploded mine from the side of a Japanese-owned oil tanker, as Washington blamed Iran for attacks rattling global oil markets.

Hong Kong social media lit up when protesters noticed Google’s translation software was briefly churning out a rather odd suggestion during a week that has seen the worst political violence to hit the city in decades. Google users discovered that when people entered the phrase “I am sad to see Hong Kong become part of China” the suggested translation in both Simplified and Traditional Chinese converted the word “sad” to “happy”.

- Tens of thousands of security personnel fanned out across Jakarta as a court heard a defeated presidential challenger’s claim that Indonesia’s 2019 election was rigged — allegations that spawned deadly rioting last month.

- Former US national security adviser Michael Flynn hired Sidney Powell his new lawyer. Powell, a former federal prosecutor, earned President Donald Trump's praise and repeatedly denigrated the Russia probe.

- The Brazilian Supreme Court ruled that homophobia should be criminalized under existing legislation until Congress creates a specific law for the subject, weighing in on a topic that has drawn the ire of President Jair Bolsonaro.

- The Alpine A110S was unveiled and it features an upgraded 1.8L turbo engine producing 292PS of power and improved dynamics.



- Zion WIlliamson is suing to enforce his termination of an agreement he signed with a Florida marketing company, maintaining their deal was unlawful under North Carolina law.

- An animated Spice Girls movie is in the works at Paramount Animation.
