- Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte cleared Agrarian Reform Secretary John Castriciones of any accountability and instead blamed his predecessor former Agrarian Reform Secretary Rafael Mariano for the slow pace of land conversion cases in the country.

- President Duterte reiterated his calls for reforms in the Catholic Church, citing the recent admission of Pope Francis that some priests had sexually abused nuns.

- President Duterte has offered anew to resume the peace talks with the communist rebels if they would stop their extortion activities.
