- Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte believes that parents using corporal punishment to discipline their children turn them into law-abiding citizens and that the Philippines should not follow the trend of Western countries which sees the act as outdated.

- Tropical cyclone Wutip is expected to enter the Philippine area of responsibility Thursday evening or early Friday, according to PAGASA. Around Thursday noon, PAGASA estimated the location of Wutip at 1,540 kilometers east of Northern Luzon or still outside the PAR.
