- The National Youth Cross and a relic of St. John Paul II will be brought to different parishes across the Philippines on a pilgrim tour until December. A send-off mass was held at the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines Chapel in Manila on Feb. 13 prior to the start of the pilgrim tour, which serves as one of the highlights for the Year of the Youth observance.
- Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte said that the government is committed to provide treatment and rehabilitation to drug dependents to give them chance to start clean and productive lives.
- Rappler executive editor Maria Ressa said she will continue to do her job despite the legal cases she's facing. - At least 13 people were killed and more than 30 others injured when a passenger bus overturned on a highway in North Macedonia on Wednesday.
- The US space agency declared the Opportunity rover in Mars out of commission. The rover last contacted Earth in June last year, just before it was enveloped in the darkness of a global dust storm. The routine prompt commands that have been sent to Opportunity will now end. The mission has been declared over.
