2018 Virgin Australia Supercars Championship - Red Rooster Sydney SuperNight 300

The 2018 Virgin Australia Supercars Championship brings back night racing for the first time since 1997 and Sydney Motorsport Park was the first to experience the return of night racing, which serves as a challenge for Supercars drivers.

This new night racing challenge in Supercars really is fierce at the dead of the night and over the course of this 77-lap battle, there has been some drama involved for the drivers with some penalization to some drivers over clashes and some safety car deployments.

Despite all this, this nighttime thriller really is the most exciting Supercars event in history and Shane van Gisbergen blew them away with a win, followed by second placer Jamie Whincup and third placer Scott McLaughlin.

Onto the leaderboard, McLaughlin's still on top with 2,579 points while Shane Van Gisbergen's 2nd with 2,490 points and Whincup's at third with 2,146 points.

Next race is the OTR SuperSprint at The Bend on the 24th to the 26th of August.
