- Senators expressed confidence that the proposed Bangsamoro Basic Law will pass the Supreme Court's scrutiny and eventually be implemented smoothly to resolve the long-standing conflict in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.

- A special registration will be held on Friday, July 20 for Persons With Disabilities. The Commission on Elections said the special offsite registration for PWDs will be conducted in some areas in Region I.

- The Philippine government on Thursday offered to repatriate members of the Filipino community in Nicaragua following the continuing civil unrest in that country. None of the 86 Filipinos in Nicaragua have so far been affected by the unrest, the Department of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.

- Numerous retirees protested Wednesday to demand payment of their retirement benefits in crisis-hit Venezuela. About 200 senior citizens blocked traffic on Urdaneta Avenue, a stone’s throw from the presidential palace.

- Prosecutors state that accused Russian agent Maria Butina tried to trade sex for influence.

- Police identify Novichok attackers who poisoned former Russian spy Sergei Skripal in Salisbury as they say several Russians were involved in the attempted murder of the former double agent and daughter.

- The third-generation Audi TT range's minor change was unveiled with new look and features.

 - Honoring STI's 30th anniversary, Subaru unveiled the limited edition WRX STi Type RA-R, which is limited to 500 units and priced at 4,998,240 Yen. It uses the same upgrades as the S208 special edition but it weighs 10kg less than the normal WRX STi, making it the lightest WRX STi ever made.

- Illustrator Kaori Fujita passed away at the age of 47.

- Actress Sofia Andres is set to return in ABS-CBN's fantaserye, Bagani, after a controversial three month exit from the show.

- The Buy Bust action film starring Anne Curtis will spearhead next month's Cinemalaya 2018.
