- Senator Bam Aquino claims that the Philippine government needs to release a concrete plan to explore the Benham Rise. Aquino also expressed support to the decision of President Rodrigo Duterte to prohibit foreign maritime scientific exploration in the Philippine Rise.

- The Senate will subpoena Atty. Persida Rueda Acosta, chief of the Public Attorney’s Office, and Dr. Erwin Erfe, director of the agency’s forensic laboratory, for their next hearing on the Dengvaxia issue, following the recommendation of Sen. Joseph ‘JV’ Ejercito, chairman of the Senate Committee on Health, to summon the two PAO officials.

- Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III presented three female victims of illegal recruitment, whose Arabian recruiter was arrested and is currently imprisoned at a facility in Dumaguete City, Negros Island.

- Four people are killed while 145 are missing when a M6.4 quake struck the popular Taiwanese tourist city of Hualien overnight. Many of those were believed to be still trapped inside buildings, including a military hospital, after the quake hit about 22 km (14 miles) northeast of Hualien on Taiwan‘s east coast.

- Wall Street braced for a higher level of volatility in the days ahead, after a roughly 2 percent rebound in U.S. stocks on Tuesday followed the biggest one-day selloff in more than six years.

- The French government has introduced a new ruling that it is now illegal for drivers to use their phones while they’re in the car, no matter if the engine is running or not (except in certain situations). Violators will be charged with 135 euros.

- Jaguar Classic recreated 25 D-Types to complete the 100 production run and its clients will spec it with a choice of a 1955 Shortnose or finned 1956 Longnose.



- A web spinoff anime series based on the iDOLISH7 featuring the secret origins of the TRIGGER trio will premiere on the 17th of February.
