Barangay Ginebra defends PBA Governor's Cup title for 2017

The battle between Barangay Ginebra and the Meralco Bolts in the 2017 PBA Governor's Cup finals lasted for about seven games and because each team scored three wins, this final game held at the Philippine Arena became the ultimate decider to see which team will claim the title once and for all.

In the finale jam-packed full of crowds in the world's largest indoor arena, this battle became one of the greatest moments in PBA history as Brgy. Ginebra trumped Meralco at the score of 101-96, more than enough to clench their first-ever back-to-back title.

LA Tenorio was crowned the game's MVP after scoring 26 points to ensure Ginebra's success. Import player Scottie Thompson and Mark Caguioa did rather well in the game with the combined 18 point shootout against the Bolts.

This marks the 10th championship win for Brgy. Ginebra after the match that garnered 54,086 spectators, a record high at the Philippine Arena.
