Oriol Cardona Coll from Spain won the Men's Sprint in Ski Mountaineering, while Ning Zhongyan from China triumphed in the Men's 1500m Speed Skating event. Alysa Liu from the USA achieved first place in Women's Single Free Figure Skating, and Team USA won the gold medal in the Women's Ice Hockey Gold Medal Game.

France took first place in the Women's 4x6km Relay Biathlon, and South Korea won the Women's 3000m Relay in Short Track Speed Skating. - The House Committee on Justice will conduct thorough deliberations if the impeachment complaints against Philippine Vice President Sara Duterte, which now number three, are referred to it. Committee Chairperson and Batangas Rep. Gerville Luistro said this after the House Secretary General sent the impeachment complaints against the Vice President to the office of House Speaker Faustino Bodjie Dy III.

- The Philippines and the Republic of South Korea have agreed to further deepen bilateral relations. This was after a meeting between Executive Secretary Ralph Recto and Korean Ambassador Lee Sang-Hwa. During their talks, they discussed measures to facilitate business in the country and attract more Korean investors.

- The Philippine government has reaffirmed its firm stance in safeguarding national security following the arrest of a foreigner in Zambales for violating immigration laws and allegedly engaging in activities contrary to his declared purpose of staying in the country.

- Filipinos can now travel to Armenia without a visa requirement.

- US civil rights leader Jesse Jackson passed away at the age of 84.

- Aniplex names Shu Nishimoto as the new president of the studio.

Jens Luraas Oftebro from Norway won the Individual Gundersen LH/10km event in the Cross-Country Nordic Combined. In other events, France took first place in the Men's 4x7.5km Relay Biathlon, Italy won the Men's Team Pursuit in Speed Skating, and Canada secured victory in the Women's Team Pursuit in Speed Skating. Additionally, Germany achieved a full podium sweep in the 2-man Bobsleigh event.

- A copy of the first edition of the novel "El Filibusterismo" by Dr. Jose Rizal has made history as the most expensive book ever sold in the country. According to Leon Gallery, which held the auction for the novel, the book sold for ₱21 million at the 2026 Asian Cultural Council Auction from its starting price of ₱5 million.

- The National Unity Party (NUP) has asked House Speaker Faustino "Bojie" Dy III to take action and lead the discussion on the charter change through the Constitutional Convention. This was stated in a letter to Speaker Dy sent by House Deputy Speaker Ronaldo "Ronnie" Puno, who is also the NUP Chairman, after Senate President Vicente "Tito" Sotto III announced that he is open to meeting with the House regarding this.

- Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. urged Filipinos to welcome the Year of the Fire Horse with discipline, hard work, and clear goals. According to the President, quick action is not enough, but the right direction must be taken.

- The International Space Station (ISS) is back in full operation after four new astronauts arrived on Saturday, February 14, to replace their colleagues who were evacuated early due to health issues. Launching from Cape Canaveral, SpaceX sent astronauts Jessica Meir and Jack Hathaway of NASA, Sophie Adenot of France, and Andrei Fedyaev of Russia to operate on the ISS for eight to nine months. Meir, a marine biologist, and Fedyaev, a former military pilot, are no strangers to the ISS, having previously been there and lived there.

- UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer abandons plan to delay 30 local council elections in England in May.

- The United Nations Human Rights Council's Advisory Committee convenes its 34th session from now until the 20th of February, 2026, with an Iranian regime official, Afsaneh Nadipour, taking her seat for the first time as a full member and contributing to discussions on “gender perspectives,” “democratic international order,” and “gender-based violence.”

- An annular solar eclipse will be visible as a "ring of fire" in Antarctica. Maximum eclipse occurs at 12:12 UTC, with annularity lasting 59 minutes from 11:43 to 12:41 UTC, starting overall at 09:56 UTC and ending at 14:28 UTC. The event belongs to the Saros series 140, where the Moon's apparent smaller size allows sunlight to encircle it, a phenomenon recurring every 18 years. The next annular eclipse in this series is in 2044.

- Barcelona will remain on the Formula 1 calendar on a rotational basis beyond this year, alternating with Spa-Francorchamps until 2032.

- Izzy Hammond, the daughter of former Top Gear presenter Richard Hammond, crashed the Lola Formula E car during the post-race EVO Session in Saudi Arabia. As expected, she survived. Izzy's part of the Senor Frogs team alongside TheBurntChip and Calfreezy. The team won the Evo Session against the Quickstars team.

Although the Philippine government will cooperate with Interpol in case the International Criminal Court (ICC) issues an arrest warrant against identified co-perpetrators in the Duterte drug war, including Sen. - The Philippine National Police commits support ot families of four policemen involved in the fatal road crash in Misamis Occidental.

- The Philippine National Police rolled out its security plan for tomorrow's Chinese New Year celebrations not only in Metro Manila but also in other parts of the country.

- UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer says the country needs "deeper links" with the European Union and that Europe must be "ready to fight". A few moments ago, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the US and Europe belong together, and the United Nations has played "no role" in resolving conflicts. Meanwhile, during the Munich summit, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen says US President Donald Trump is still "very serious" about his Greenland takeover plans. Starmer is deploying a fleet of UK warships and fighter jets to the Arctic this year.

Martin Ponsiluoma of Sweden won the Men's 12.5km Pursuit Biathlon, Norway won the Men's 4x7.5km Relay Cross-Country Skiing, Federica Brignone from Italy for the Women's Giant Slalom Alpine Skiing, Lisa Vittozzi from Italy for the Women's 10km Pursuit Biathlon, Femke Kok of The Netherlands for the Women's 500km Speed Skating, Stoecker and Weston from the UK for the Mixed Team Skeleton, and Anna Odine Stroem of Norway for the Women's LH Individual Ski Jumping.

2026 NASCAR Cup Series - Daytona 500

Finally, NASCAR is back, and the crowd is ready for their "Hell Yeah" moment. The Daytona 500 is the perfect way to start the new NASCAR year, and the 2026 season is no different. With flyovers, Nate Bargatze serving as the Grand Marshal, Bart Simpson joining in on the festivities, and a tribute to the late Dale Earnhardt, this event kicks off one of the biggest celebrations for America's 250th anniversary.

As the green flag waved, the new NASCAR season officially began. In Stage 1, on Lap 3, drivers slowed down to honor the late Dale Earnhardt, while the crowd waved three fingers as a sign of respect. As the action resumed, William Byron got hit by the No.78 car, not to mention Byron hitting the wall a few laps later.

Zane Smith secured his first-ever NASCAR stage win after Stage 1. However, Stage 2 saw increased trouble as Connor Zilisch, Chase Briscoe, and several others were involved in a significant crash known as "The Big One." Unfortunately, things could have been worse, as another major incident occurred on Lap 124. Bubba Wallace ultimately won Stage 2 under caution. In the final stage of the season opener, Denny Hamlin collided with Christopher Bell with less than 10 laps remaining.

Guinness Men's Six Nations 2026 ROUND 2

Week 2 of the Guinness Men's Six Nations championship saw Ireland take on Italy, Scotland go head-to-head with England, and Wales face off against France.

Ireland, Scotland, and France were the winners of Week 2. Ireland defeated Italy with a score of 20-13, while Scotland dominated England by 31-20, and France humiliated Wales with a score of 54-12.

After Week 2, France is leading the title fight with 10 points, four points ahead of Scotland.

Week 3 kicks off this February 21-22 with England taking on Ireland, Wales against Scotland, and France going head-to-head with Italy.

WRC 2026: Rally Sweden

The 2026 World Rally Championship is underway with the second round, Rally Sweden. The drivers are facing freezing conditions as they push to get ahead in the competition.

Oliver Solberg initially led the first two stages of the rally, but a snowbank strike on SS3 allowed Elfyn Evans to take the lead. This allowed Evans to lead the Gazoo Racing podium, competing closely with Takamoto Katsuta. Although Evans did not win the Wolf Power Stage—finishing just behind Thierry Neuville—his performance was strong enough to secure the top spot for Gazoo Racing. Katsuta finished in second place, while Sami Pajari claimed third.

The next event is the Safari Rally Kenya on March 12-15, 2026.

Jens van 'T Wout of The Netherlands won the Men's 1500m Short Track Speed Skating, Domen Prevc of Slovenia won the Men's LH Individual Ski Jumping, Janine Flock of Austria won the Women's Skeleton, Jordan Stolz won the Men's 500m Speed Skating, Maren Kirkkeide of Norway for the Women's 7.5km Sprint Biathlon, Lucas Pinheiro Braathen of Brazil for the Men's Giant Slalom Alpine Skiing, and Norway for the Women's 4x7.5km Relay Cross Country Skiing.

ABB FIA Formula E S12 - Jeddah City E-Prix

Season 12 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship continues with the Jeddah E-Prix, held at the iconic Jeddah Corniche, the same venue as the F1 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. This event features two nights of thrilling racing action and introduces the Pit Boost system, which adds a new layer of strategy to the race weekend.

In the first race, Pascal Wehrlein from Porsche triumphed over Edoardo Mortara from Mahindra and Mitch Evans from Jaguar. In the second race, Antonio Felix da Costa secured his first win as a Jaguar driver, defeating Envision's Sebastien Buemi and last season's champion, Oliver Rowland from Nissan.

Post-Jeddah, Pascal Wehrlein leads the championship standings with 68 points, six points ahead of Edoardo Mortara. Oliver Rowland is in third place with 49 points.

The next race is the Madrid E-Prix on March 21, 2026.

The highlights of the day at Milano Cortina 2026 include Cross-Country Skiing, Biathlon, Speed Skating, Figure Skating, and Skeleton events. 

In the Men's Skeleton match, Matt Weston from the UK emerged as the winner. Mikhail Shaidorov from Kazakhstan won the Men's Single Free Figure Skating event, while Metodej Jilek from the Czech Republic took first place in the Men's 10,000m Speed Skating. Quentin Fillon Maillet won the Men's 10km Sprint in Biathlon, and Johannes Høsflot Klæbo from Norway triumphed in the Men's 10km Interval Start Free Cross-Country Skiing.

As for the medal tally, both Norway and Italy are currently leading the overall count with 18 medals each. However, Norway is ahead in the gold medal count, with a total of eight golds.

The Netherlands has dominated the Women's 500m and the Men's 1000m Short Track Speed Skating, while Germany won the Team Relay Luge. Francesca Lollobrigida of Italy won the Women's 5000m Speed Skating, Frida Karlsson of Sweden won the Women's 10km Interval Start Free Cross-Country Skiing, and Federica Brignone of Italy won the Women's Super-G Alpine Skiing.

Italy has the highest total medal count with 17, including six gold medals. However, Norway leads in gold medals, with seven out of its 14 total medals.

NH 10km Cross Country Nordic Combined, Julia Simon of France for the Women's 15km Individual Biathlon, Jordan Stolz from the USA for the Men's 1000km Speed Skating, Italy's Voetter and Oberhofer for the Women's Doubles Run 2 Luge, Fournier Beau and Cizeron of France for the Free Ice Dance Figure Skating, and Rieder and Kainzwaldn of Italy for the Men's Doubles Run 2 Luge.

Norway continues to lead the overall medal tally with 13 medals, including seven golds.
