2025 Formula DRIFT Pro Championship - THE GAUNTLET

The streets of Englishtown, New Jersey, heralded the arrival of summer with tire-slaying drifts with the 4th round of the 2025 Formula DRIFT Pro Championship, called THE GAUNTLET.

Adam LZ and Fredric Aasbo fought their way through the FINALs, with one of them sending James Deane to third place. By unanimous decision, Adam LZ trumped the Supra-driving Aasbo to become the winner of the third round of the season.

ABB FIA Formula E S11 - Jakarta ePrix

The only ASEAN country to host a Formula E race, Jakarta, returned to the stage in the eleventh season of the event. This season gave race fans their only chance to witness the GEN3 EVO machines tear through the streets of the Indonesian capital.

In another twist this season, Dan Ticktum of Cupra KIRO Race Co achieved a fairytale victory against Mahindra's Edoardo Mortara and Andretti's Nico Mueller, marking his first-ever Formula E win.

After the Jakarta round of Formula E, Oliver Rowland is in the lead with 172 points, while the two Porsche drivers, Pascal Wehrlein and Antonio Felix Da Costa, are separated by just three points, with 103 and 100 respectively.

The next event is the two-part Berlin ePrix, scheduled for July 12-13, 2025.

- The COMELEC denies reports that it has erased all election files since the 2025 polls. Only soft copies from the National Printing Office were removed by privacy protocols.

- The PH House of Representatives rejected the "entry of appearance" made by the lawyers of Philippine Vice President Sara Duterte.

- PH DOJ Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla believes that former Presidential Spokesperson Atty. Harry Roque's request for asylum hasn't reached the Netherlands. The case has reached Germany, according to sources.

- The learning crisis among Philippine students has worsened due to the COVID-19 pandemic, according to the Philippine Department of Education.

- Protesters in Kenya clashed with alleged government supporters in the streets of Nairobi. The protests, held in the wake of the death in custody 10 days ago of Albert Ojwang, were called to demand the sacking of a top police officer. Police said that Mr. Ojwang died of self-inflicted wounds, but were forced to retract the statement after an autopsy found that it was likely he died after being assaulted. Two policemen were arrested in connection with Ojwang's death.

- US President Donald Trump mulls joining Israel's offensive against Iran's nuclear sites. Iran's Supreme Leader Khamenei warns the US against attacks, threatening "irreparable damage". Israel claims 40 Iranian sites were hit.

- The Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X was unveiled. Powered by the same 5.5L V8 Twin Turbo engine as the normal ZR1 but with improved hybrid powertrain from the E-Ray and All-Wheel-Drive system, it generates a record-breaking 1250HP of power, making it the most powerful production Corvette ever made.

- Following post-race inspections, the #50 Ferrari AF Corse 499P was stripped of its 3rd place finish in last weekend's Le Mans endurance race as the rear wing support was not in compliance with the deflection test indicated in Article 3.8.7 of the 2025 LMH Technical Regulations and the homologation for car 50. As a result, the #51 Ferrari AF Corse 499P was promoted to third place. Cadillac and Toyota are among the top five Le Mans finishers.

NTT IndyCar Series 2025 - Bommarito Automotive Group 500

3 big races happened in North America on Father’s Day. The Canadian Grand Prix is up north in Montreal. The NASCAR Cup Series in Mexico City. In St. Louis, it’s the nighttime oval race of the IndyCar season, the Bommarito Automotive Group 500 at World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway. With the former two done, it's time to understand what just happened at IndyCar's oval night race in St. Louis.

After an explosive entrance, the oval night race in St. Louis was filled with unfortunate events, including countless crashes, a fire in the pit lane, and one very big disaster that involved Louis Foster and Josef Newgarden.

Amidst the disastrous moments in St. Louis, Kyle Kirkwood wins the Bommarito Automotive Group 500 ahead of Pato O'Ward. Meanwhile, Christian Rasmussen made headlines with his first career podium finish by placing 3rd.

After St. Louis, Alex Palou remains in the lead with 335 points while Pato O'Ward is in 2nd with 262, two points ahead of Kyle Kirkwood.

2025 NASCAR Cup Series - Viva Mexico 250

The Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, the sacred ground of F1's Mexico Grand Prix, became NASCAR's newest battleground for the Viva Mexico 250. This is the first time the NASCAR Cup Series has raced in Mexico, and it was a major undertaking due to ongoing border tensions between the U.S. and Mexico. That it took place at all is an unprecedented feat and a testament to the popularity of the sport in both countries.

As the green flag waved, the first NASCAR Cup Series on Mexican soil was underway. The first stage saw drivers struggling to get through the wet conditions in their newest foreign battleground. As Ryan Preece gets Stage 1, Stage 2 saw Denny Hamlin's temporary replacement driver, Ryan Truex, spin around the track. With Shane Van Gisbergen taking Stage 2, the finale is drama to the end.

After a long and arduous battle, a foreign driver has made history. Shane Van Gisbergen, the foreign driver, has struck back. In NASCAR’s first Cup Series Mexico race, Van Gisbergen won the Viva Mexico 250, scoring a monumental victory!

The next race is at Pocono for The Great American Getaway 400 presented by VISITPA.COM this June 22, 2025.

F1 2025: Pirelli Grand Prix du Canada

Circuit Gilles Villeneuve is the next stop for the F1 75th-anniversary celebrations with the Pirelli Grand Prix du Canada. This race not only marked Aston Martin and Alpine's 100th race start but also Haas' 200th race start. With George Russell and Max Verstappen locked in the front row, this race is a showdown between them.

The opening lap saw Alex Albon being pushed wide and losing out, dropping him to P12. On lap 48, he was forced to retire from the race. Then, near the end, the two McLaren drivers got into a dramatic crash. Oscar Piastri collided with Lando Norris, pushing him out of the race.

Thanks to the disaster between the two McLaren drivers, George Russell nabbed Mercedes’ first win of the season, while Max Verstappen finished in 2nd place. Kimi Antonelli stood out by finishing in 3rd place, scoring his first-ever podium finish. Not bad for an 18-year-old F1 driver.

The next race is the MSC Cruises Austrian Grand Prix in Spielberg this June 29, 2025.

F1 Academy 2025 - Montreal

The 2025 F1 Academy season continues in Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, where this race weekend becomes a three-race match to compensate for what happened in Miami last May. For this season's Canada campaign, they were joined by not one but two wild-card entries, such as Joanne Ciconte representing Wella and Mathilda Paatz representing Gatorade.

The Canada leg of the 2025 F1 Academy season had many exciting moments. In the first race, Doriane Pin won, while Emma Felbermayr placed third but was later disqualified due to a technical violation. The second race saw Emma Felbermayr win, earning revenge. The third race resulted in multiple accidents, culminating with a yellow flag after the last crash. The winner in the end was Chloe Chambers. One driver stood out during the entire Montreal race weekend, however, and that was Ella Lloyd of McLaren. She finished in second place in all three races.

After Canada, Doriane Pin is leading with 109 points, while Chloe Chambers is in 2nd with 89 points, and Maya Weug is in 3rd with 72 points.

The 2025 F1 Academy season will continue in Zandvoort this August 29 to 31. The girls have their well-deserved summer break before they begin another weekend of racing.

FIA WEC S13 - 24 Hours of Le Mans

The 2025 edition of the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans took place at the Circuit de la Sarthe in Le Mans, and the Hypercar grid is now fully booked.

Long before the race, fans who visited the venue were treated to some exciting surprises. Peugeot unveiled the all-new e-208 GTi, an electric hot hatch, and Genesis Magma Racing previewed its upcoming debut in the World Endurance Championship (WEC). Additionally, Ford and McLaren are set to join the WEC Hypercar grid in 2027, with McLaren previewing its competitor for that year. 

There has also been significant news regarding hypercar homologation, which has been extended until 2032. For the 2028 season, LMP2 machines will be entirely new, offering a choice between Ligier and Oreca chassis, both powered by Gibson turbo engines. This reveals a promising glimpse into the future of endurance racing.

The #83 AF Corse 499P, driven by Robert Kubica, Ye Yifei, and Philip Hanson, defeated the #6 Porsche Penske Motorsport 963 and the #51 Ferrari AF Corse 499P to nail the machine's first win. The #43 Inter Europol Competition won the LMP2 class while the #92 Manthey 1st Phorm 911 GT3R won the LMGT3 class.

The 24 Hours of Le Mans is over, but the 2025 edition of the FIA World Endurance Championship will continue with the Rolex 6 Hours of Sao Paulo this July 13, 2025.

2025 O-NE SUPERRACE CHAMPIONSHIP Round 3

The Summer Racing Season of the 2025 O-NE SUPERRACE CHAMPIONSHIP officially kicked off with the first of three Night Races in the Summer Season at Inje Speedium.

Not only was the event packed with races, such as the Formula Korea and Japan, Korea Superbike, LISTA M Class, mixed GT Class races, and the main event TGR 6000 Class, but it also featured musical performances by UV, Beomki, and Serve.

In the main event of the Toyota Gazoo Racing 6000 Class, the Kumho SLM team achieved a one-two finish, with season leader Lee Chang Wook taking first place and No Dong Gi finishing in second. Jang Hyun Jin from Seohan secured third place, completing the podium.

The Summer Racing Season of the 2025 O-NE SUPERRACE CHAMPIONSHIP will continue in Yongin Everland Speedway on July 12th, 2025.

- Senate President Chiz Escudero denied Senator Risa Hontiveros' accusation that they planned to return the impeachment complaint against Philippine Vice President Sara Duterte to the House of Representatives. According to Escudero, it can be seen from the emotions, temper, duration of the discussion, and the number of votes that there was no manipulation in the process.

- Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has not yet decided whether he will sign the bill that will extend the term of Barangay and SK officials from three years to six years. This was stated by the Palace after the House passed the term extension bill and the Senate approved the postponement of the barangay and SK elections.

- At least 290 people were killed when Air India Flight 171 crashed in Ahmedabad, India. The plane, which was en route to London, struck a hospital during the crash. Out of the 242 individuals on board, 241 lost their lives, while a single British passenger survived. The aircraft involved was a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, marking the first major incident for this model.

- SEMA has been accepted as a full member of the FIA, representing the United States in mobility services, tourism, and advocacy.

- The homologation cycle for the WEC Hypercar class has been extended to the end of the 2032 season.

- A new IndyCar chassis and engine will be introduced from 2027 to 2028.

- Denny Hamlin will not participate in this weekend's NASCAR race in Mexico following the birth of his son. Ryan Truex will take over the #11 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota race car at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez track.

- BMW updated the XM lineup for the 2026 model year.

- Konami announced that a Silent Hill remake game with Bloober Team is in development. THREATS FROM NORTH KOREA: BTS RM, V, Jimin, Jungkook discharged from military service

 

K-pop supergroup BTS reached a major milestone in their group journey this week as members RM, V, Jimin, and Jungkook officially completed their mandatory military service.

RM, 30, and V, 29, marked the end of their eighteen-month military duty on Tuesday, June 10, 2025.

Both RM and V were discharged in Chuncheon, Gangwon Province, where RM served in the army band and V carried out his duties in a Special Military Police unit.

A livestream video from Seoul Broadcasting System (SBS), a Korean news outlet, showed RM and V greeting fans with salutes and a saxophone performance as they came out.

The following day, June 11, youngest member Jungkook, 27, together with Jimin, 29, were also discharged after serving at the 5th Infantry Division Artillery Brigade.

They emerged from Yeoncheon’s public stadium clad in uniform, offering heartfelt salutes and thanks to the fans known as ARMY.

Following their discharge, Jungkook and Jimin went live on the online fan community Weverse to greet their fans.

"The first thing I wanted to tell you, ARMY, is thank you for waiting," Jimin said.

BTS entered a military hiatus in mid-2022 after the group's oldest member, Jin, 32, enlisted.

Since then, the group has staggered their service completions: Jin (June 2024), J-Hope (October 2024), RM and V (June 10, 2025), and Jimin and Jungkook (June 11, 2025).

Six out of the seven BTS members are now back together, with only Suga—currently serving as a social service agent—set to return home by June 21, marking the reunion of the world-famous K-pop boy group.

- The Armed Forces of the Philippines has officially declared Basilan as an ASG-free province. Although peace is restored to the said area, the AFP assures that they will continue their military operations there to make sure the Abu Sayyaf Group will not return there.

- Senator Risa Hontiveros warned that the impeachment trial against Philippine Vice President Sara Duterte may not be completed within the 19 days.

- About 14 volcanic earthquakes were recorded around Mt. Bulusan within the previous 24 hours, according to PHIVOLCS.

- Activist Greta Thunberg was deported from Israel one day after the Israeli military seized the Gaza-bound ship she was on. Thunberg was one of 12 passengers aboard the Madleen, a vessel carrying aid to Gaza that aimed to protest Israel’s ongoing war and raise awareness of the humanitarian crisis in the Palestinian territory, according to the Freedom Flotilla Coalition, the organization behind the mission.

- US President Donald Trump sent another 2,000 National Guards and 700 Marines to Los Angeles on the fourth day of anti-ICE protests.

- The first-ever Cadillac Optiq-V was unveiled. Its electric powertrain was boosted to 519 hp in Velocity Max, sprinting from 0-60mph in 3.5 seconds.

- Senate President pro tempore Jinggoy Estrada is leaving it to legal experts to determine whether a resolution dismissing the impeachment case of Philippine Vice President Sara Duterte can be overridden or followed, as compared to the Senate acting as an impeachment court. According to Estrada, he is not a lawyer, so he is leaving this matter to his lawyers.

- Philippine President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has directed the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) to ensure that all major canals and irrigation systems across the country are properly maintained. This directive is part of the government's goal to boost agricultural productivity, minimize post-harvest losses, and guarantee a sufficient and affordable food supply nationwide.

- A group of anti-ICE protesters clash against National Guard soldiers on the streets of Los Angeles.

- Aston Martin unveiled the track-only Valkyrie LM ahead of its Le Mans debut.

2025 NASCAR Cup Series - Firekeepers Casino 400

Michigan is the next stop for the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series for the Firekeepers Casino 400. From start to finish, the action has gotten the fans from across Motor City and beyond pumped up for more.

As the green flag waved, the action in Michigan was on. As Chris Buescher takes Stage 1, Stage 2 saw John Hunter Nemechek and Noah Gragson get into a mess at the backstretch, followed by a big one that caught Alex Bowman and Cole Custer in it. As William Byron takes Stage 2, the final stage saw Todd Gilliland making contact with the wall in Turn 2
