Nissan Leaf ZE2

Launched 15 years ago, the Nissan Leaf played a pivotal role in the revival of electric vehicles. Thanks to the Nissan Leaf, the entire automotive industry embraced electrification during the transition to a new normal. Fast forward to 2025, and the Nissan Leaf of the Reiwa era has arrived, but it is not the Leaf you remember.

2026 Nissan Leaf
2026 Nissan Leaf

This is no longer the Nissan Leaf your everyday Uber driver knows because the ZE2 model has officially ditched the hatchback bodystyle from its predecessors in favor of a coupe-style SUV look. It starts from 5,188,700 Yen plus additional costs.

2026 Nissan Leaf
2026 Nissan Leaf AUTECH

You may be curious about the trend towards the coupe-crossover design. The story is quite interesting. For inspiration, Nissan has drawn from the Chill-Out Concept for its silhouette. They found the Chill-Out Concept's shape appealing and combined it with the front design of the Ariya and the rear of the RZ34 Fairlady Z. The result is the third-generation Nissan Leaf. Surprised? You should be! With its coupe-like silhouette, the Ariya front, and the Z's rear view, Nissan has made a dramatic transformation to the Leaf's design. Even in the showy Autech variant with a blackened front face, silver linings, and fancy wheels, there's no hiding the fact that the Leaf's turned.

2026 Nissan Leaf
2026 Nissan Leaf interior

The auto pop-up door handle is one of the most intriguing features of the ZE2 Leaf, but the interior is where things become even more exciting. On the driver's side, you'll find two 14.3-inch screens equipped with Google technology, as well as a BOSE Personal Plus Sound System. The interior also includes multicolor ambient lighting and haptic touch panels for the air conditioning, gear buttons, and other controls. While passenger comfort remains similar to that of previous models, the transition to a coupe-crossover design results in a storage capacity of up to 420 liters, an increase of 20 liters compared to the previous model. Another surprising aspect!

2026 Nissan Leaf
2026 Nissan Leaf

As a new model, the electric powertrain is also new for the ZE2 model. It features a new YM52 front electric motor connected to a 78kWh lithium battery. It produces 218PS of power and 355NM of torque. As for driving range, the entry-level B7 X has a range of 702km, while the range-topping B7 G has 685km. It even has V2L functionality, making it capable of becoming a backup generator in case of a power outage or in case you're in the middle of a touring gig.

The Leaf ZE2 shares a similar platform with its larger counterpart, the Ariya. It is equipped with Rack & Pinion Power Steering, front strut suspension, rear multilink suspension, and ventilated disc brakes, which contribute to a decent driving experience. Additionally, it includes the e-Pedal feature, enabling the car to accelerate and brake using just one pedal.

For safety, the Leaf ZE2 is packed with ProPILOT Assist with Navi-link, a 3D 8-point Around View Monitor, Invisible Hood View, Front Wide View, and other safety features such as Intelligent Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, and Driver Monitor System.

The abrupt shift to a coupe-crossover may seem like a sacrilege to the Leaf's heritage. However, with significant advancements in its EV powertrain and technology, this third-generation Nissan Leaf, manufactured in Tochigi, Japan, has quietly rewritten the EV rulebook. It's ready to tackle the "new normal" in this unstable world we live in.

Cadillac Escalade IQL

The Cadillac Escalade IQ is the all-electric take on the American luxury brand's SUV king, favored by Hollywood's best personalities. Having learned that the Escalade IQ is not luxurious enough, Cadillac made it longer. The first-ever Escalade IQL is now as big as any American full-size SUV should.

2026 Cadillac Escalade IQL
2026 Cadillac Escalade IQL

The Escalade IQL is priced at a staggering $130,405, plus additional costs. It offers everything you know about the Escalade IQ, now in a longer wheelbase version.

While it shares a name with Cadillac's flagship SUV, the Escalade IQL moves away from the traditional square design of its gasoline-powered counterpart, opting instead for a more modern unibody style. The Escalade has long been a favorite among celebrities from Los Angeles to New York, and the Escalade IQ aims to stand out with its unique features, particularly in the interior.

The driver's area boasts a striking 55-inch curved LED display that spans from pillar to pillar and includes Google built-in functionality, providing a futuristic driving experience. Control over many vehicle functions is at your fingertips, and there’s even a separate touchscreen on the armrest for climate control.

As a seven-seater SUV, the Escalade IQ shines in its executive second-row seating, which is the standout feature. With a rear-seat entertainment system, ample legroom, an upgraded sound system, and multiple tech charging options, passengers can stay comfortable and entertained, even during long stretches of West Coast traffic. Additionally, the vehicle offers up to 137.4 cubic feet of maximum cargo space behind the first row and eTrunk, ensuring plenty of room for all your essentials.

Running on the Ultium platform, the dual-motor setting produces 750HP of power output with the Velocity Max set, and that's more than you get from the Escalade-V. Sprinting from 0-60mph in less than five seconds, the Escalade IQ can last up to 460 miles of driving range, the longest range of any EV SUV. It even packs a wide array of safety features ranging from night vision, adaptive cruise control, automatic lane change, and standard Super Cruise hands-free driving aid, complimentary with a 3-year OnStar Super Cruise plan.

Cadillac is making waves with the Escalade IQL, appealing to Hollywood celebrities and socially conscious consumers with its stylish and comfortable zero-emission design. If you're in the market for an ultra-luxury full-size SUV featuring an electric powertrain, this is definitely worth considering.

Kia EV5

Started out in life as a concept two years ago, the first-ever Kia EV5 has sprung to life for the general Korean public, and you can have one with a starting price of 48,550,000 Won plus additional costs. So, what's it all about with Kia's FF-only EV SUV?

2026 Kia EV5
2026 Kia EV5

First and foremost, no, the Kia EV5 is not a fully imported model from the People's Republic of China. It is manufactured in South Korea. While the EV5 was initially produced and sold in the Chinese market before expanding to the rest of the Belt and Road Initiative, South Korean manufacturers don't typically consider this an "import." Kia prefers to build the EV5 from its home base in South Korea rather than importing it from China. In summary, the EV5 is made in South Korea.

2026 Kia EV5
2026 Kia EV5

Amid the "where is the Kia EV5 made" query that will pop up in everyone's minds, the styling of the EV5 remains faithful to the concept car. Kia's Opposites United design language is making a first impression for this front-wheel-drive EV crossover. The same goes for the range-topping GT-Line variant.

2026 Kia EV5
2026 Kia EV5 interior

Although the interior lacks the swiveling seats seen in its concept version, it can still comfortably accommodate up to five passengers. The driver's side is equipped with a panoramic wide display that shows vehicle information on one screen and controls typical infotainment features, AI assistance, and downloadable apps like Netflix and Disney+ on the other. It also includes a center console with cup holders and a wireless charging port, Dynamic Ambient Lighting, and Harman Kardon Premium Sound.

On the passenger side, you'll find several convenient features, such as a seatback table, an extendable center console, three-zone air conditioning, and a sliding cover armrest for the second row. Additional features in the EV5 include the Built-in Cam 2 Plus, Smart Power Liftgate, Kia Digital Key 2, and Pet Mode, making it a practical choice for various needs.

Asked about boot space, the EV5 has 566 liters of boot space with the rear seats present, and with the seats folded down, it has the maximum boot space of 1650 liters.

2026 Kia EV5
2026 Kia EV5

Running on the E-GMP platform, the EV5 features an 81.4kWh nickel metal battery and a 218PS electric motor powering the front wheels. It sprints from 0-100kph in 8.4 seconds and flat out in 165kph. As for the driving range, it's good for 460km. Not too bad.

The EV5 exemplifies a common-sense approach to driving safety, highlighted by its impressive safety features. It boasts a Euro NCAP 5-Star rating and a KNCAP Grade 1. Among its advanced safety systems are Highway Driving Assist 2 with Hands-On Detection (HDA 2 with HOD) and Remote Smart Parking Assist 2 (RSPA 2). Additional safety technologies include Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Avoidance (RCCA), Blind-Spot Collision Avoidance Assist (BCA), and Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA).

Although it feels so close for Kia to bring the EV5 to the Korean market, the decision to be Korean-made rather than being an import from China kinda spoils the party. Amid geological headscratching, it's a common-sense EV people carrier that caters to Korean families with ease. So glad the EV5 found its home in the Land of the Morning Calm.

Nissan X-TRAIL T33 - 2026 Minor Change

Launched three years ago, the fourth-generation Nissan X-TRAIL became the new standard for Nissan because of its e-POWER VC-TURBO combination, the muscular looks, the refined interior, and Nissan Intelligent Mobility. It's high time for the Nissan X-Trail T33 to receive its long-overdue minor change to keep it fresh in times of challenging situations. Ready for some introductions?

2026 Nissan X-Trail
2026 Nissan X-Trail

Starting at 3,843,400 yen, plus additional costs, the Nissan X-TRAIL T33 Minor Change is redefining the midsize crossover SUV segment. It features a bold exterior refresh and significant technology upgrades that enhance convenience and connectivity for every journey, as highlighted by Nissan.

2026 Nissan X-Trail
2026 Nissan X-Trail AUTECH

Beginning with the revised exterior design, the X-TRAIL T33 Minor Change features a revised front and rear fascias, a new version of Nissan's V-motion grille, and new inner taillights. While the flashy AUTECH version features a significantly larger grille than its pre-facelifted counterpart, this minor change introduces two new additions to the lineup: the off-road-oriented Rock Creek and the sports-oriented X-Trail Nismo.

The X-TRAIL Rock Creek variant replaces the previous XTREMER-X variant from the pre-facelift model. It boasts a unique gloss-black front grille with silver accents, a redesigned front fascia featuring Lava Red accents, gloss-black side mirrors, and black roof rails. Additionally, it is available in an exclusive Canyon Beige/Super Black two-tone exterior color.

On the other hand, the first-ever X-TRAIL NISMO showcases a distinctive NISMO-tuned exterior design and dynamics while maintaining its e-4ORCE powertrain. This model offers two exclusive exterior color combinations: NISMO Stealth Grey/Super Black two-tone and Cardinal Red/Super Black two-tone.

2026 Nissan X-Trail
2026 Nissan X-Trail Rock Creek interior

The interior remains largely unchanged, except for the addition of USB-C ports and the introduction of Google-built-in NissanConnect, which is a first for Nissan vehicles. Additionally, first-time buyers can enjoy free in-car Wi-Fi until January 15, 2026, regardless of whether they subscribe to the NissanConnect service.

Most variants, including the NISMO variant, offer standard five-seater capability. The variants eligible for the seven-seater configuration are the X e-4ORCE, AUTECH e-4ORCE, and the Rock Creek edition. Regardless of the variant you choose, you can enjoy a maximum boot space of 1,424 liters when the passenger seats are folded down. With five seats in use, the boot space is approximately 585 liters, while with seven seats in use, it reduces to about 177 liters.

2026 Nissan X-Trail NISMO
2026 Nissan X-Trail NISMO

As expected, the e-POWER VC-TURBO combination remains in this update. The electric motor takes the lead, while the 1.5L VC-Turbo engine functions as a generator to support the electric motor and charge the lithium-ion batteries. The front-wheel-drive (FF) variants with a single electric motor produce 204 PS and offer a fuel economy of 19.4 km/L. In contrast, the e-4ORCE variants equipped with two electric motors deliver 213 PS of power and have a fuel economy of 18.1 km/L. All are mated with the CVT gearbox.

The Nissan X-TRAIL is equipped with the standard 360 Safety Assist, which includes features such as Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Departure Warning, High Beam Assist, and Rear Automatic Braking. The top-of-the-line variants also come with ProPILOT, which combines Intelligent Cruise Control with Steering Assist for a more confident driving experience on the highway. This system utilizes a forward-facing camera, forward-facing radar, and other sensors to help keep the vehicle centered within its lane. In stop-and-go traffic, ProPILOT can bring the vehicle to a complete stop and hold it in place until traffic begins to move again.

With the Nissan X-TRAIL T33 receiving its long-overdue minor change with the addition of the off-road-oriented Rock Creek edition and the sports-oriented NISMO edition, there are many ways to live with this update. Like it or not, this update means business for the X-TRAIL.

MGS5 EV

No. It doesn't refer to "Metal Gear Solid 5"; this is the first-ever MGS5 EV from the Chinese-controlled British carmaker MG.

2026 MG S5 EV
2026 MG S5 EV

2026 MG S5 EV
2026 MG S5 EV interior

The MGS5 EV, priced at £28,745 plus additional costs, is the brand's first all-electric crossover SUV. It joins MG's EV portfolio alongside the MG4 and the image-leading Cyberster.

Beginning with the exterior design, the front face of the MGS5 can be easily mistaken for either a Geely Galaxy or a Buick, while the rear view resembles that of one from the MG4. Identity crisis aside, this crossover is all about keeping it clean and aerodynamic at its pace.

Come inside, the MGS5 features a 12.8" HD Touchscreen, physical switches for AC and volume, a 10.25” display screen behind the steering wheel, a wireless charging port for the Trophy variant, and others. It seats up to five people, and with the passenger seats folded down, it gives a maximum of 1441 liters of boot space. Decent enough to meet your everyday situations.

The MGS5 is available with two electric vehicle (EV) powertrains: a 49kWh option for the SE model and a 64kWh option for the SE Long Range and Trophy Long Range models.

The 49kWh powertrain delivers 170 PS of power and 250 Nm of torque, with a 0-62 mph acceleration time of eight seconds, a top speed of 101 mph, and a maximum driving range of 211 miles. In contrast, the 64kWh powertrain offers 231 PS of power, 350 Nm of torque, accelerates from 0-62 mph in 6.3 seconds, reaches the same top speed of 101 mph, and provides a maximum driving range of up to 298 miles. Both estimated charging times from 10% to 80% are less than thirty minutes while plugged at a public charging station, but the lesser one is four minutes ahead.

Although being a RWD-only crossover, the MGS5 EV feels average in terms of driving feel, but being civilized on normal roads, it sure knows the meaning of common sense in a nutshell. Speaking of common sense, the MGS5 comes with MG Pilot, which features a wide variety of ADAS such as Blind Spot Detection and Rear Cross Traffic. The Trophy variant comes with the 360° HD Surround View Camera, where four wide-angle cameras reveal a full view of what's around the car.

The MGS5 EV meets the highest safety standards with seven airbags and a reinforced steel frame chassis. As for braking, the MGS5 comes with an advanced braking system made in collaboration with Continental and Bridgestone, allowing it to stop from 62mph to a standstill in 35.5 meters.

The first-ever MGS5 electric vehicle (EV) may not be the most thrilling crossover to drive, but it offers good value for money. People throughout England are eager to spend their hard-earned money on another practical crossover loaded with common sense. Does this crossover make sense to you?

Available Colors: Arctic White, Black Pearl, Piccadilly Blue, Camden Grey, Cosmic Silver, and Dynamic Red.

Acura ADX

The Acura ADX crossover is the brand's first entry-level crossover and is priced starting at $35,000, making it more expensive than the Integra. This pricing presents a challenging value proposition, especially considering that the ADX is essentially based on the Honda ZR-V.

2025 Acura ADX
2025 Acura ADX

Your first impression of the Acura ADX is the exterior design, and by the looks of it, the ADX mimics its big brothers, the RDX and the MDX, making it a victim of the Russian doll effect that most luxury carmakers practice nowadays. Nothing to get excited about.

2025 Acura ADX
2025 Acura ADX interior

Because the ADX is basically a Honda ZR-V underneath, the interior is identical to its relative as well. Behind the wheel, the ADX is loaded with a Google-powered sat-nav with smartphone connectivity as well as available amenities such as wireless charging, wi-fi hotspot, and BANG & OLUFSEN Sound System. As far as spacing is concerned, it's about as comfortable as its ZR-V relative, and with the rear seats folded down, it has up to 55.1 cu.ft of cargo space. Good for almost everything life throws at it.

2025 Acura ADX
2025 Acura ADX

Under the hood, the Acura ADX is powered by the same 1.5L VTEC TURBO as the Honda ZR-V. It produces 190HP of power and 179lb-ft of torque. Because it's mated to a CVT, the fuel rating is around 28MPG combined.

In its FF guise, the ADX feels normal to drive, but with the Realtime AWD system, the ZR-V feels capable almost everywhere. Not as exciting as expected, but it sure knows how to keep its act even when the Integrated Dynamics System is set to Sport Mode.

To rub some common sense, the ADX features AcuraWatch, a range of advanced driver-assist systems consisting of autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, auto high beam, adaptive driving beam, traffic jam assist, and false start suppression, among many others.

The Acura ADX might be more like a Honda ZR-V underneath, featuring design elements reminiscent of its larger siblings and offering performance that belies its classification as a luxury compact crossover SUV. Ultimately, it’s all about practicality. Nothing else.

Available Colors: Adriatic Sea Blue, Solar Silver Metallic, Crystal Black Pearl, Milano Red, Platinum White Pearl, and Urban Gray Pearl.

Å koda Elroq RS

The first-ever Å koda Elroq EV crossover has gained the vRS variant, making it the second electric car to bear the vRS emblem since the Enyaq. To recall, the Å koda Elroq crossover represents a new chapter for Å koda. The key question is: Do you want to purchase this compact EV crossover that competes with the Hyundai IONIQ 5? Despite being less spacious than its Asian rival, the Elroq is affordable, and it's worth the shot, sort of. Has the vRS variant improved the Elroq's experience?

2026 Skoda Elroq RS

2026 Skoda Elroq RS
2026 Skoda Elroq RS

Starting at 1,269,000CZK plus additional costs, the first-ever Skoda Elroq RS elevates the Elroq to a sportier setting, giving customers something to get excited about, the crossover that aims squarely at the Hyundai IONIQ 5.

2026 Skoda Elroq RS interior

Although it looks and feels just like the normal Elroq, not to mention the boot space that is smaller than the IONIQ 5, the Elroq RS adds zest to the normal Elroq with its sporty aero design, lime green stitching, and sports seats.

The Skoda Elroq is still as aerodynamic as the normal Elroq, but the vRS is also armed with two electric motors and a 79kWh battery, giving it all-wheel-drive capability. The power output was bumped to 340PS of power and 679Nm of torque, giving it a 0-100kph time of 5.4 seconds and a top speed of a normal Japanese car. The driving range is around 546km based on WLTP standards.

Thanks to its lowered chassis, the Elroq vRS feels sporty to drive, and with its 4WD system, it feels okay even when you're feeling under the weather. It still packs XDS+, regenerative braking, and progressive control as the normal Elroq.

In terms of safety, the Elroq vRS boasts an extensive suite of driving technologies. These include Driving Assist 2.6, Predictive Cruise Control, Traffic Sign Recognition, Adaptive Lane Guidance, and Traffic Jam Assist. Additional safety features are the Emergency Assistant, automatic parking, saved parking maneuvers, remote parking, parking sensors with automatic braking, and a parking camera.

The vehicle also comes with a Panoramic Camera System, Front Assist, anti-collision assistant, Turn Assistant, blind spot monitoring, exit warning, proactive passenger protection, multi-collision brake, and driver fatigue detection.

Has the vRS variant improved the Elroq's experience? Sort of, as expected. Although drastically less than the Hyundai IONIQ 5N and as fast a a normal Japanese car, the Elroq vRS's dynamics really mean business almost everywhere. This is the Elroq that deserves to be driven.

Available Colors: Modra Energy, Seda Steel, Zelena Timiano, Cerna Magic metaliza, Modra Race metaliza, Stribrna Brilliant metaliza, Seda Graphite metaliza, Cervena Velvet metaliza, Bila Moon metaliza, and Zelena Mamba.

Skoda Kodiaq Mk2 RS

The second-generation Skoda Kodiaq SUV has gained the high-performance vRS variant, and things are looking slightly promising for the new model.

2025 Skoda Kodiaq RS
2025 Skoda Kodiaq RS

Yours for 1,500,000CZK plus additional costs, the all-new Skoda Kodiaq vRS adds some spice to the current-generation model that eschewed the sharp looks from the previous model in favor of a rounder one with the rearview easily mistaken for a Volkswagen ID.5 or certain Lincoln crossovers from the past decade.

2025 Skoda Kodiaq RS
2025 Skoda Kodiaq RS interior

Although it looks and feels similar to the normal Kodiaq, the vRS features a darkened front grille, sporty exterior design, red stitching, sports seats, and a new steering wheel design that proudly spells SKODA on it. It's only offered as a five-seater with up to 2105 liters of boot space with the passenger seats folded down.

Under the hood, the Kodiaq vRS is powered by the same 265PS 2.0 TSi OPF petrol engine as the Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line variant. Mated to a 7-speed DSG, it does 0-100kph in 6.3 seconds and has a top speed of 231kph. Combined fuel economy is 8.2 l/100km based on WLTP standards.

Thanks to its standard 4x4 drivetrain, the Kodiaq vRS is more than happy to get itself dirty. Driving on either tarmac, gravel, or snow, the 4WD system means business for the Kodiaq vRS, although taking one on track days means stocking up on some ibuprofen and paracetamol because handling one can be a real pain.

Like the normal Kodiaq, the vRS is packed with numerous safety features such as a lane change system, autonomous emergency braking, a lane keeping system, rearview camera system, dynamic road sign display, and others.

With the vRS variant, this SUV's ready to rock through tarmac, gravel, or snow in style and comfort, no doubt.

5th Gen Ford Expedition vs. 5th Gen Lincoln Navigator

Ford's flagship full-size SUV, the Expedition, has reached its fifth generation. It's now more rugged and more luxurious enough to tackle uncharted heights while rewriting the rules of what a luxury SUV should be.

2025 Ford Expedition

Starting at $62,320 plus additional costs, the fifth-generation Ford Expedition is now more Republican than before with new and exciting ways to keep this flagship SUV going for more.

2025 Ford Expedition
2025 Ford Expedition

The all-new Ford Expedition shows us what a luxury full-size SUV should be. On the outside, you'll find a front end inspired by today's F-150, taillights that echo those on the Toyota Verossa, and a body shape that's still decidedly boxy. It's still the Expeditions that rich Texans and Republican politicians can't get enough of, even in its new off-road-oriented Tremor variant.

2025 Ford Expedition
2025 Ford Expedition interior

2025 Ford Expedition
2025 Ford Expedition interior

The new interior showcases the business class of this Republican-friendly SUV. Behind the wheel, you will be greeted by the new Panoramic 24-inch display that tells important driving info from navigation to entertainment. Although you still get a touch screen with smartphone connectivity and knobs for the radio controls, it offers a Flex Powered Consle that slides up for more storage and aisle room. On the comfort side, it can accommodate up to eight people, and it features a power-folding second-row bench seat with a Tip-and-Slide feature for easier third-row access. Go for the MAX variant and you'll have a boot space big enough for almost everything. There are other new useful features for the all-new Expedition, such as the all-new Multifunction Ford Split Gate, the available Cargo Tailgate Manager with backrest, and a 360-Degree Zone Light, among others. Handy for almost every situation.

2025 Ford Expedition
2025 Ford Expedition

The all-new Expedition is still powered by the 3.5L EcoBoost V6 turbo engine, but it now produces 400HP of power and 480lb-ft of torque. Some models have a High Output version of the said engine with up to 440HP of power and 510lb-ft of torque. They're all mated to a 10-speed Automatic with SelectShift.

Underneath, the all-new Expedition features Continuous Control Damping Suspension and Independent Suspension for better stability and dynamics. Sounds luxurious, but if you go for the Intelligent 4WD with Terrain Management System, not only is it good everywhere, it's better for towing thanks to its Heavy-Duty Trailer Tow Package, giving it up to 9600lbs of towing capacity. The Tremor variant gives off-road capability for the all-new Expedition thanks to its 3.73 electronic locking differential and modified higher-ride suspension with Premium Passive Shocks.

Such features really put the "common sense" for the new model, and to add some more common sense, the all-new Expedition features Ford Co-Pilot360 driver assist tech as well as a 360-degree camera.

So, what can I say about the all-new Expedition? With its powerful styling, luxurious interior, the new off-road-oriented Tremor variant, and numerous features, it's safe to assume that the new model is more Republican than the previous model. If you're a Red State politician, consider the all-new Expedition the one for you, but if you're an A-list celebrity, you'd be better off with this.

2025 Lincoln Navigator
2025 Lincoln Navigator

2025 Lincoln Navigator interior

This is the all-new, fifth-generation, $99,995 Lincoln Navigator. It's the ultra-expensive, all-American, luxury full-size SUV that rewrites the rules of what a luxury SUV should be.

At first glance, the new model is similarly sized to today's Ford Expedition, but with Lincoln's new design language to differentiate it, this is the ultimate essence of luxury.

The biggest surprise is the new interior, which feels like you’re driving a concept car from the future. The Lincoln Digital Experience features the largest panoramic display in its class, as well as an 11.1-inch center-stack touchscreen with Google software. Call it flashy, but its futuristic dashboard layout does showcase the loud and proud side of Lincoln’s usual calm, cool, and collected status.

Offered with a choice of seven or eight seater, the seven-seater variant takes the credit for the Navigator's luxury status, with the available Tailored Seats delivering Business Class comfort while on the move. Not only that, the all-new Navigator comes with the available split gate, the available Cargo Tailgate Manager with backrest, and a 360-Degree Zone Light, among others.

Under the hood, the all-new Navigator is powered by the 3.5L V6 EcoBoost High Output engine with up to 440HP of power and 510lb-ft of torque. It's mated to a 10-speed Automatic with SelectShift. Not only that, it also features Continuous Control Damping Suspension, Independent Suspension, and the Intelligent 4WD with Terrain Management System. It even comes with Lincoln BlueCruise driver assist tech as well as a 360-degree camera, among others.

So, there you have it. The all-new Expedition appeals to the Reds while the all-new Navigator appeals to the Blues. Either way, they're both benefited by their ultra-luxury characteristics that made them alphas of the luxury SUV market. Welcome to the new normal.

Volkswagen Tayron R4

The Volkswagen Tayron is a new vehicle that replaces the Tiguan Allspace. It has a three-row seating layout, as opposed to the two rows on the current Tiguan, which will probably be great for families who are on the road often. So, what's it all about, the first-ever Tayron?

2025 Volkswagen Tayron
2025 Volkswagen Tayron

2025 Volkswagen Tayron
2025 Volkswagen Tayron interior

The first-ever Volkswagen Tayron is basically a longer version of the Tiguan, which is a big plus for anyone who likes this current car but doesn't think it's long enough. Starting at 45,475 Euros plus additional costs, it is the replacement for the old Tiguan Allspace, which had a three-row seating layout, so it might appeal to families in particular. There's nothing crazy-special about the Tayron, but I like the idea that European families will get to drive a three-row crossover, and even more importantly, that it's made by Volkswagen.

While the Tayron's exterior is basically an enlarged Tiguan, the interior holds a similar story. It still employs the minimalist approach like most Volkswagens today. While the button-packed steering wheel is the tip of the iceberg, it also features a Digital Cockpit comprising a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 15-inch central infotainment display touchscreen that controls the infotainment, air conditioning, and the show-off ambient lighting. It even comes with HUD, Driving Experience Control, and the annoying IDA voice assistant.

Having three-row seats is a welcoming feat, but getting through the third row is as challenging as any other three-row SUV you're familiar with, and with 345 liters of legroom from the third row seats, grown-ups are going to find it challenging to squeeze through. No sweet spot there. You'd be better off sitting in the second row unless the invasion of child seats would ruin your touring day.

Asked about boot space, the Tayron can fit up to 885 liters with the third-row seats present, which is big enough for today's groceries, but with the passenger seats folded down, it has a max boot space of 2090 liters.

Thanks to the MQB evo platform, the Tayron behaves slightly better than the old Tiguan Allspace. With the available 4MOTION 4-wheel-drive system and Dynamic Chassis Control, it can do slightly more.

The Tayron offers several engine options, and each comes with a different transmission. Petrol and diesel variants are paired with a 7-speed automatic. However, eHybrid variants come mated with a 6-speed automatic. Right-minded Europeans are skipping the 2.0 TDi variant due to the fallout from the Dieselgate scandal.

More appealing choices include the 1.5 eTSi OPF, 1.5 eHYBRID OPF, and the 265PS 2.0 TSi OPF, which is exclusive to the R-Line variant.

The Tayron’s fuel efficiency is impressive, with the WLTP fuel economy of the entry-level variant rating at 6.2 l/100 km. For those who want a little more pep, the 1.5 eHybrid OPF will take you 0-100kph in 7.2 seconds and can reach a top speed of 215kph. Its electric-only driving range is only up to 119km. Best to ditch your Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV for this one.

As always, the Tayron is packed with numerous safety features such as a lane change system, autonomous emergency braking, and a lane keeping system, rearview camera system, dynamic road sign display, available park assist pro with remote parking capability, and the available trailer assist.

The first-ever Volkswagen Tayron is everything you'd expect from today's Tiguan, only bigger. This is common sense paid off, the Volkswagen way.

Mini Aceman John Cooper Works

The first-ever Mini John Cooper Works Aceman is an upgraded version of the Aceman designed for long-term driving. So, what can we expect from this all-electric JCW crossover?

Mini Aceman John Cooper Works
2025 Mini John Cooper Works Aceman

Yours for £36,905 plus additional costs, the John Cooper Works Aceman is the only JCW electric crossover you can buy for now. This EV hot crossover has the Alfa Romeo Junior and the Abarth 600e in its crosshairs and looks like it's ready for a new kind of fox hunt.

The JCW Aceman resembles the standard Aceman but features sporty JCW enhancements, including sport seats and distinctive design elements that set it apart. Since there is no five-door version of the J01 Mini JCW hatchback, the JCW Aceman fills the void. Nice one, MINI.

It utilizes the same 49.2 kWh battery pack found in the J01 Mini JCW hatchback, paired with a front electric motor. It delivers a power output of 258 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque. The car can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 6.4 seconds and has a top speed of 124 mph. Its driving range is between 214 and 242 miles.

Like the standard Aceman, it features front-wheel drive only, so it's not ideal for navigating gravel or snowy conditions. However, as a JCW model, it boasts sport-tuned dynamics, making it more engaging to drive compared to the regular Aceman. Just be prepared to stock up on ibuprofen and paracetamol for any discomfort!

Of course, the JCW Aceman features 12 ultrasonic sensors and four surround-view cameras that take advantage of its Parking Assistant and optional Parking Assistant Plus systems. It even comes with autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and Remote 360, among others.

The first-ever Aceman John Cooper Works is an exciting addition to the market. Although it is less powerful than its Italian competitors, the Junior and the Abarth 600e, its pricing offers great value. Be prepared to handle it with care, as this EV crossover is designed for a long day on the road with you behind the wheel.

Lexus LX 700h (VJH310W)

A first in Japan, the full-size hybrid SUV built on a ladder frame is the Lexus LX 700h, which is also the most powerful LX to date.

2025 Lexus LX 700h
2025 Lexus LX 700h interior

The first-ever hybrid variant of the current-generation Lexus LX starts at 15,900,000 Japanese Yen plus additional costs, and although it looks similar to its petrol-powered LX 600 equivalent, which is still available, the hybrid powertrain puts the LX 700h at the top of the Lexus SUV food chain, especially with the addition of the new offroad-oriented OVERTRAIL+ variant.

Let's give you a quick refresher on the current-generation Lexus LX. The LX is often described as bourgeois, primarily due to its larger size, which can be challenging to manage in Japanese and European driving conditions. Its massive front grille is another feature that may overshadow even the most ostentatious BMWs of today. Enthusiasts often criticize cars with large grilles as being unnecessary and silly, yet this has become the new norm. Despite the controversial front design, the LX is the second Lexus model to replace the logo on the back with "LEXUS" lettering, a change first introduced with the second-generation NX crossover as part of the brand's new design direction.

Inside, the all-new LX features two screens on the dashboard, a first for a Lexus vehicle. The top screen is a responsive touchscreen, marking a significant improvement over the previous model that relied solely on the Remote Touch system for selecting modes, which the new model lacks. The bottom screen displays climate controls and driving-related information, providing a more user-friendly interface. However, a notable drawback of the new setup is the fingerprint recognition feature on the engine switch. While designed to enhance security, the implementation can be cumbersome; it's reminiscent of having only one account per person, making it difficult to set up a new account if the original one encounters problems.

In terms of seating, the new LX offers five or seven seats, and for the first time, it has a four-seater variant under the EXECUTIVE tagline. This EXECUTIVE version includes two larger rear seats with extra legroom, specialized climate control features, a multifunction rear console, and an ottoman for added comfort—something that many will appreciate. Regardless of which variant you choose, they all offer more space than their predecessors, as expected.

The V35A-FTS V6 3.5L Twin Turbo engine has been bolted to a 1TM 40kW electric motor and nickel battery, churning out about 457PS of power and 790Nm of torque, making it the most powerful full-size luxury off-roader made in Japan. Mated to a Direct Shift 10AT, fuel economy is around 9.3km/L based on WLTC Mode standards.

The new LX is built on its GA-F platform and features a lightweight, rigid body that enhances performance. With front double wishbones, a rear four-link rigid axle, Active Height Control, and Adaptive Variable Suspension, the LX offers improved handling and ride quality. The all-wheel-drive system, Electric Power Steering, and Electronically Controlled Brake system contribute to its capabilities. Additionally, off-road features like Crawl Control and Multi-Terrain Select make the new LX 700h feel more lively and capable than its predecessor, while still retaining some of its traditional heavyweight off-roader characteristics. It has a distinct American off-roader vibe, especially with the OVERLAND+ variant, which comes equipped with a specially designed differential, allowing the LX 700h to tackle challenging conditions with style and confidence.

As a high-end luxury off-roader made in Japan, the all-new LX 700h is equipped with the Lexus Safety System+, which includes an enhanced suite of safety features such as Pre-Collision System, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Road Sign Assist, Lane Tracing Assist, and BladeScan technology, among others.

The Lexus LX 700h is the first-ever luxury Japanese full-size hybrid off-roader, making it truly unique in its class. No other manufacturer has ventured into this territory, which is a positive attribute for the LX. This model combines the familiar LX features with a powerful hybrid powertrain, elevating it to the top of the Lexus SUV lineup. No one offers a better option.

Toyota Corolla Cross - 2026 facelift

The Toyota Corolla Cross has been around for four years since its 2021 debut on Japanese roads, and as the times demand it, the Corolla Cross was revised for the 2026 model year with the addition of the new GR SPORT variant.

2026 Toyota Corolla Cross

The updated Toyota Corolla Cross starts at 2,760,000 Japanese Yen plus additional costs, so what to expect for the 2026 update of the one heavily debated as either a welcoming addition or treason to the Corolla heritage?

Beginning on the front, the 2026MY Corolla Cross features an updated front fascia with a body-coloured honeycomb grille, with the strip joining the headlights now illuminated. The main lamps have been redesigned with available adaptive LED technology and L-shaped daytime running lights framing illuminated “dashes”. At the back, the LED taillights were revamped with a C-shaped graphic and fins. It even features a wide range of revamped wheels to choose from.

The new GR SPORT variant, which wears a Toyota emblem instead of the Corolla emblem on the front, features a massive octagonal lower grille and rectangular outer trims with a 10 mm lower ride height, 19-inch machined Y-spoke alloys, and gloss black logos.

Inside, the Corolla Cross features a new, wider centre console, gaining a USB-C port, a Qi wireless charger, a sliding storage box, and redesigned cupholders. It still fits up to five people and the boot space slightly packs more room than its hatchback equivalent, the Corolla Sport, because the Cross is longer and wider than the Sport.

2026 Toyota Corolla Cross
2026 Toyota Corolla Cross

Like the entire Corolla range (sedan, Touring Wagon, and Sport hatchback), except for the GR Corolla, no more petrol variants for this update. For the Z, S, and G variants, it features a hybrid powertrain with the 2ZR-FXE 1.8L petrol engine connected to an electric motor and Li-ion battery for front-wheel-drive and e-Four drivetrains. With up to 140PS of total power and CVT in hand, fuel economy is around 26.4km/L for FF variants and 24.6km/L for e-Four variants.

Exclusive to the GR SPORT variant is the 197 PS 2.0L M20A-FXS hybrid powertrain with e-Four, Li-ion battery, and a 10-speed sequential shiftmatic, delivering 23.3km/L of fuel economy based on WLTC Mode standards.

The Corolla Cross, like its counterparts, performs similarly due to its TNGA platform. The suspension setup varies depending on the variant. Front-wheel-drive models feature front MacPherson struts and rear torsion beams with coil springs. In the E-Four variants, the rear suspension is upgraded to a double-wishbone design. Meanwhile, the GR SPORT variant includes a specially designed MacPherson strut front suspension and a double-wishbone rear suspension, both of which offer improved rigidity. Additionally, it features a 4-level Drive Mode select system with SPORT and SNOW EXTRA modes.

Like last time, the Corolla Cross features Toyota Safety Sense as standard, and with a wide array of safety features, it's hard to say if drivers will trust this Corolla SUV for all the reasons.

Is this what the eavesdroppers of this crossover waited for? The facelifted 2026 Toyota Corolla Cross with its hybrid-only lineup, revamped exterior, revised interior, and the new GR SPORT variant? Hope this ends this conversation frankly, but if you want one, so be it.

Suzuki Jimny Nomade

Never in the 55-year history of the Suzuki Jimny has there been a five-door variant of this world's smallest off-roader—until now. The leader in fuel-efficient cars has decided to make a significant change that hasn't been done to the Jimny in a very long time. Say hello to the first-ever Jimny Nomade, the five-door take on the legend.

2025 Suzuki Jimny Nomade
2025 Suzuki Jimny Nomade

The first-ever five-door Suzuki Jimny, the Nomade, starts at 2,651,000 Japanese Yen plus additional costs, and unlike its three-door equivalents, the Jimny Nomade marks the third time Suzuki imported something from India's Maruti Suzuki manufacturing line since the defunct Baleno and last year's Fronx crossover.

2025 Suzuki Jimny Nomade
2025 Suzuki Jimny Nomade interior

To differentiate the Nomade from the Sierra, the extra doors resulted in increased dimensions, and it's not just the increased dimensions that made the Nomade unique; it's the front chrome grille that makes it easy to differentiate. Despite the added dimensions, it's still the Jimny every Japanese offroading addict knows.

As for the interior, it's still pretty much as old-school as all of the previous Jimny generations, judging by its steering wheel integrated switches, a touch-screen sat-nav with smartphone connectivity, a front console box, and USB accessory sockets, but since this is the Nomade, the extra doors made it easier for anyone to get through the rear seats. It's common sense, and then there's the boot space, which is more than doubled in size from the Sierra's 85 to 211 liters. #32 liters with the rear seats folded.

The Nomade still uses the same K15B 1.5L petrol engine from the 3-door equivalent, the Jimny Sierra. It produces 102PS of power and 130Nm of torque. The 5-speed manual gearbox gives the Nomade about 15.4km/L of fuel economy while the 4-speed automatic has 14.3km/L, based on WLTC Mode standards.

Being the smallest SUV with a ladder frame, the Nomade's ladder frame features a center cross member and side frame reinforcements slotted above the X member while retaining the body mount rubbers and three-link rigid axle suspension from the Sierra. As a result, the Nomade is a serious, tiny off-roader compared to the Sierra.

The part-time 4WD system is a standard issue, and with the transfer lever, drivers can switch through three different modes, such as running on rear wheels or engaging a low-range four-wheel drive in case of rough terrain coming through. Other features include a steering damper, brake LSD traction control, hill hold control, and hill descent control, giving the Jimny Nomade much-needed feedback that drivers are looking forward to.

The Jimny Nomade is equipped with Suzuki Safety Support, which includes enhanced Highway and Parking safety technologies compared to the Sierra. It also features familiar safety systems such as sign recognition, lane departure warning, front car departure alert, high beam assist, dual sensor brake support, false launch suppression, and more. When these technologies are combined with electronic stability control (ESP), emergency stop signals, six airbags, a TECT body, and various other safety features, the result is a rugged and reliable off-roader that is durable and safe enough to navigate through all kinds of challenging conditions, whether on or off the road.

The first-ever, fully-imported, Suzuki Jimny Nomade showcases the unexplored side of the Jimny in terms of practicality, thanks to the additional doors that made it easier to get through the rear seats while retaining the signature off-roading capabilities you'd expect for the only small SUV in the world with a ladder frame. Welcome to the most accessible Jimny ever made. A Jimny for all off-roading addicts.

Sixth-generation Subaru Forester (SLG/5)

Subaru's best-seller, the Forester, is now in its sixth generation, and this all-new model promises to improve it for everyone, no matter what they require.

2025 Subaru Forester
2025 Subaru Forester

The Subaru Forester SL begins at 4,048,000 Japanese Yen (approximately $40,500) for the turbocharged SPORT variant. The price increases to 4,598,000 Japanese Yen (an estimated $46,000) for the Premium S:HEV EX variant, not including any additional costs. Subaru claims that the sixth-generation Forester has the most advanced technology, a modern design, and improved ride comfort.

2025 Subaru Forester
2025 Subaru Forester

Beginning with the design, the Forester SL features a massive front grille design that merges into the compact LED headlights. It's the first to feature the revised Subaru logo.

While retaining the looks from its predecessors, the new model also dons a more masculine shoulder line, prominent wheel arches, underguards, steep rear glass for better cargo capacity, and improved aerodynamics. Of course, if you need more style for your Forester, your Subaru dealer may offer you some customization packages, such as the Adventure Style Package that proudly spells SUBARU at the front grille, Accent Color Package, and the STi Aero Package, among others.

2025 Subaru Forester
2025 Subaru Forester

While seating is still up to five people, the new interior dons a similar 11.6-inch Subaru STARLINK infotainment system debuted on the second-generation Levorg, which comes with smartphone connectivity. It still packs buttons for the aircon and dials for the volume and radio channels as expected. Mind you, the sat-nav system uses "what3words" to set a destination, which allows users to specify a 3m x 3m area with three words.

Other features include heated seats, a heated steering wheel, power seats, voice recognition, wireless charging port, ETC, Harman Kardon sound system, and others.

Although the wheelbase remains the same as the previous model, the extended length and width should spell a slightly increased room, but in terms of boot space, it's less compared to the previous model. with one liter less with the rear seats present, up to 48 liters less trunk volume roof-high with rear seat folded down. A fault line, the new model possesses.

On the plus side, the all-new Forester features a Subaru-first hands-free power rear gate that automatically opens when you lift your foot under the rear bumper cover. It also features Remote Keyless Access, Tire Pressure Monitoring System with Individual Wheel Display, Steering Responsive LED Headlights with Automatic High Beam, Welcome Lighting, and power door locks, windows, and side mirrors.

2025 Subaru Forester
2025 Subaru Forester

In the SPORT variant, the Forester is equipped with a CB18 1.8L DOHC Direct Injection Turbo engine, which delivers a modest 177 PS of power and 300 Nm of torque. It is paired with a Lineartronic CVT that features an 8-speed Manual Mode, offering a fuel economy of approximately 13.6 km/L.

In the X-BREAK and Premium variants, the Forester is the second Subaru model to utilize the S:HEV powertrain, which was first introduced in the Crosstrek last year. This system combines a 160 PS FB25 2.5L petrol engine with an 88 kW MC2 electric motor and a lithium-ion battery, all working in conjunction with a CVT. As a result, the Forester S:HEV achieves an impressive fuel economy of up to 18.8 km/L based on WLTC mode standards.

In terms of dynamics, the legendary Subaru Symmetrical AWD system is further enhanced with Active Torque Vectoring and the SI-DRIVE system. As for steering, it features the same dual-pinion electric power steering rack from today's Levorg and WRX S4 as well. The all-new Forester comes with X-MODE with Hill Descent Control, allowing drivers to traverse through tarmac, gravel, or snow at ease.

The all-new Forester is equipped with Subaru's award-winning EyeSight Driver Assist Technology, which includes a first-in-class feature called Emergency Stop Assist. This feature activates if the driver becomes unresponsive to warnings while using Advanced Adaptive Cruise Control. It stops the vehicle, activates the hazard lights, and unlocks the doors to ensure safety.

Additionally, the new Forester is the first Subaru model to incorporate a pedestrian protection airbag specifically designed for cyclists. If a collision occurs with a pedestrian or cyclist, this airbag deploys to cover the vehicle's hard parts. Its design extends to the rear of the front pillar, making it effective for protecting cyclists whose heads are positioned higher.

In summary, the all-new Subaru Forester SL may offer less space compared to the SK model, but it comes with a choice of S:HEV and turbo powertrains, impressive styling, and enhanced safety features. Notably, it is the first vehicle to include a pedestrian protection airbag specifically designed for cyclists. This makes the Forester well-suited for today’s needs.
