Cadillac Escalade IQL

The Cadillac Escalade IQ is the all-electric take on the American luxury brand's SUV king, favored by Hollywood's best personalities. Having learned that the Escalade IQ is not luxurious enough, Cadillac made it longer. The first-ever Escalade IQL is now as big as any American full-size SUV should.

2026 Cadillac Escalade IQL

The Escalade IQL is priced at a staggering $130,405, plus additional costs. It offers everything you know about the Escalade IQ, now in a longer wheelbase version.

While it shares a name with Cadillac's flagship SUV, the Escalade IQL moves away from the traditional square design of its gasoline-powered counterpart, opting instead for a more modern unibody style. The Escalade has long been a favorite among celebrities from Los Angeles to New York, and the Escalade IQ aims to stand out with its unique features, particularly in the interior.

The driver's area boasts a striking 55-inch curved LED display that spans from pillar to pillar and includes Google built-in functionality, providing a futuristic driving experience. Control over many vehicle functions is at your fingertips, and there’s even a separate touchscreen on the armrest for climate control.

As a seven-seater SUV, the Escalade IQ shines in its executive second-row seating, which is the standout feature. With a rear-seat entertainment system, ample legroom, an upgraded sound system, and multiple tech charging options, passengers can stay comfortable and entertained, even during long stretches of West Coast traffic. Additionally, the vehicle offers up to 137.4 cubic feet of maximum cargo space behind the first row and eTrunk, ensuring plenty of room for all your essentials.

Running on the Ultium platform, the dual-motor setting produces 750HP of power output with the Velocity Max set, and that's more than you get from the Escalade-V. Sprinting from 0-60mph in less than five seconds, the Escalade IQ can last up to 460 miles of driving range, the longest range of any EV SUV. It even packs a wide array of safety features ranging from night vision, adaptive cruise control, automatic lane change, and standard Super Cruise hands-free driving aid, complimentary with a 3-year OnStar Super Cruise plan.

Cadillac is making waves with the Escalade IQL, appealing to Hollywood celebrities and socially conscious consumers with its stylish and comfortable zero-emission design. If you're in the market for an ultra-luxury full-size SUV featuring an electric powertrain, this is definitely worth considering.

Hyundai IONIQ 6 N

The first-ever Hyundai IONIQ 6 N is here. Starting at 79,900,000 Korean Won plus additional costs, the all-electric high-performance super saloon you've been waiting for from the start is coming at you. Ready to find out what makes the IONIQ 6 N the EV super saloon you want to drive? You're in luck.

2026 Hyundai IONIQ 6 N
2026 Hyundai IONIQ 6 N interior

Based on the recently updated IONIQ 6 electric saloon, the IONIQ 6 N features a similar semi-racing appearance inspired by the RN22e Concept, which was derived from the pre-facelifted IONIQ 6. It's been three long years since the RN22e Concept shocked the world, and now, one of Hyundai N's rolling lab experiments has become reality.

The interior of the IONIQ 6 N retains the same functionality and feel as the standard IONIQ 6, but it features several distinctive additions. These enhancements consist of sports seats, an N steering wheel, and exclusive elements not found in the IONIQ 6 N Line. Notably, it features the N Active Sound + system, which adds a dynamic audio experience to driving, and the N Ambient Shift Light, a unique interior lighting feature that visually indicates precise shift points for optimal performance.

Compatible with the Hyundai N App, you can check how well your IONIQ 6 N performs on tracks like Everland, Inje, and Korea International Circuit.

Armed with an 84kWh Li-ion battery pack and two electric motors powering the front and rear wheels, the IONIQ 6 N produces up to 650PS of power and 770Nm of torque courtesy of the 10-second N Grin Boost. With N Launch Control set, it sprints from 0-100kph in 3.2 seconds and flat out in 257kph, 3kph slower than the IONIQ 5 N but faster than a high-performance European saloon. As for the driving range, it's good for 366km on one full charge.

Although aerodynamics play a crucial role in this car, its trump card is the new stroke-sensing ECS (Electronically Controlled Suspension) dampers, allowing this car to adapt to various road conditions, even on track days. Coupled with the N Torque Distribution and N Drift Optimizer, the result is a highly addictive driving experience you can't get enough of. Not bad for a grippy heavyweight Korean EV super saloon.

Although controversial, the IONIQ 6 N features numerous gimmicks such as the N e-shift system, where a virtual 8-speed DCT comes out for the play, and with the manual mode set, it shifts like you were in a video game.

Like the normal IONIQ 6, the N features a host of safety features such as Remote Smart Parking Assist, Surround View Monitor, and Hyundai SmartSense, among many others.

The IONIQ 6 N is a highly anticipated Korean electric super saloon that enthusiasts have been eager to see since the RN22e Concept. This car promises impressive performance, leaving us with a strong desire to drive it one day. It's high time to put this car under Red Notice.

Hyundai IONIQ 6 (2026MY Minor Change)

Launched three years ago, the Hyundai IONIQ 6 proved that electrification is addictive and worth exploring due to the wondrous features it possesses. For a Korean-made electric saloon, this is pretty impressive, and it could be the Sonata of the new age, which is outlandish to say. With the introduction of its 2026MY Minor Change, the new IONIQ 6 continues to redefine the electric saloon category with new ways and means.

Hyundai IONIQ 6 (2026MY Minor Change)
2026 Hyundai IONIQ 6

With the starting price of 48,560,000 Yen plus additional costs, there's never a good time to reintroduce the Hyundai IONIQ 6 to the world with this latest minor change, and things couldn't get even more promising than before.

2026 Hyundai IONIQ 6

Beginning with the exterior, the front headlights have been shortened and feature a new front bumper design to improve their aerodynamic properties. At the back, the rear bumper looks more subtle than before, and the rear spoiler is now a ducktail, in the name of streamlining. For the first time ever, the IONIQ 6 N Line was added to the lineup, featuring a sporty exterior design and a blackened trunk to match its credentials. Either way, it's still the IONIQ 6 the world knows.

2026 Hyundai IONIQ 6

The interior's slightly revised for this minor change. It now features a revamped center console, a larger air conditioning touch panel, USB-C ports, improved door panels, and improved software with the new AI assistant that responds to your voice, among others. The N Line, meanwhile, features a unique N round steering wheel with a red drive mode button and metal pedals.

2026 Hyundai IONIQ 6
2026 Hyundai IONIQ 6 N Line

Onto the IONIQ 6 N's electric powertrain. The rear-wheel-drive Standard model runs on a 63kWh Lithium-Ion battery to produce 170PS of power and 350 N · m of torque with a driving range of 437km. The Long Range model, meanwhile, runs on the 84kWh Lithium-Ion battery to produce up to 325PS of power and up to 533km of driving range for AWD variants. Both models come with the all-new adaptive regenerative braking system, which now uses navigation data to adjust regeneration strength, such as speed camera locations, speed bumps, and roundabouts.

The driving experience has been improved thanks to its revised frequency-selective dampers, low-rolling-resistance tires, increased sound insulation, reduced high-frequency noise, and the new Smooth Mode that reduces the throttle and brake pedal sensitivity.

Like before, it features Hyundai SmartSense, a suite of active safety features such as Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist 2, rear-side collision avoidance assist, lane departure prevention assist, Highway Driving Assist 2, navigation-based smart cruise control, high beam assist, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist, Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist, and Remote Smart Parking Assistant 2.

With its latest improvements compared to the pre-facelift model, there's never a better time to get familiarized with the award-winning Hyundai IONIQ 6 with this updated version.

Available Colors: Ultimate Red Metallic (N Line only), Serenity White Pearl, Aero Silver Metallic (N Line only), Nocturne Grey Metallic, Bio Philic Black Pearl, Gravity Gold Matte, Transmission Blue Matte, and Nocturne Grey Matte.

Kia EV5

Started out in life as a concept two years ago, the first-ever Kia EV5 has sprung to life for the general Korean public, and you can have one with a starting price of 48,550,000 Won plus additional costs. So, what's it all about with Kia's FF-only EV SUV?

2026 Kia EV5
2026 Kia EV5

First and foremost, no, the Kia EV5 is not a fully imported model from the People's Republic of China. It is manufactured in South Korea. While the EV5 was initially produced and sold in the Chinese market before expanding to the rest of the Belt and Road Initiative, South Korean manufacturers don't typically consider this an "import." Kia prefers to build the EV5 from its home base in South Korea rather than importing it from China. In summary, the EV5 is made in South Korea.

2026 Kia EV5
2026 Kia EV5

Amid the "where is the Kia EV5 made" query that will pop up in everyone's minds, the styling of the EV5 remains faithful to the concept car. Kia's Opposites United design language is making a first impression for this front-wheel-drive EV crossover. The same goes for the range-topping GT-Line variant.

2026 Kia EV5
2026 Kia EV5 interior

Although the interior lacks the swiveling seats seen in its concept version, it can still comfortably accommodate up to five passengers. The driver's side is equipped with a panoramic wide display that shows vehicle information on one screen and controls typical infotainment features, AI assistance, and downloadable apps like Netflix and Disney+ on the other. It also includes a center console with cup holders and a wireless charging port, Dynamic Ambient Lighting, and Harman Kardon Premium Sound.

On the passenger side, you'll find several convenient features, such as a seatback table, an extendable center console, three-zone air conditioning, and a sliding cover armrest for the second row. Additional features in the EV5 include the Built-in Cam 2 Plus, Smart Power Liftgate, Kia Digital Key 2, and Pet Mode, making it a practical choice for various needs.

Asked about boot space, the EV5 has 566 liters of boot space with the rear seats present, and with the seats folded down, it has the maximum boot space of 1650 liters.

2026 Kia EV5
2026 Kia EV5

Running on the E-GMP platform, the EV5 features an 81.4kWh nickel metal battery and a 218PS electric motor powering the front wheels. It sprints from 0-100kph in 8.4 seconds and flat out in 165kph. As for the driving range, it's good for 460km. Not too bad.

The EV5 exemplifies a common-sense approach to driving safety, highlighted by its impressive safety features. It boasts a Euro NCAP 5-Star rating and a KNCAP Grade 1. Among its advanced safety systems are Highway Driving Assist 2 with Hands-On Detection (HDA 2 with HOD) and Remote Smart Parking Assist 2 (RSPA 2). Additional safety technologies include Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Avoidance (RCCA), Blind-Spot Collision Avoidance Assist (BCA), and Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA).

Although it feels so close for Kia to bring the EV5 to the Korean market, the decision to be Korean-made rather than being an import from China kinda spoils the party. Amid geological headscratching, it's a common-sense EV people carrier that caters to Korean families with ease. So glad the EV5 found its home in the Land of the Morning Calm.

MGS5 EV

No. It doesn't refer to "Metal Gear Solid 5"; this is the first-ever MGS5 EV from the Chinese-controlled British carmaker MG.

2026 MG S5 EV
2026 MG S5 EV

2026 MG S5 EV
2026 MG S5 EV interior

The MGS5 EV, priced at £28,745 plus additional costs, is the brand's first all-electric crossover SUV. It joins MG's EV portfolio alongside the MG4 and the image-leading Cyberster.

Beginning with the exterior design, the front face of the MGS5 can be easily mistaken for either a Geely Galaxy or a Buick, while the rear view resembles that of one from the MG4. Identity crisis aside, this crossover is all about keeping it clean and aerodynamic at its pace.

Come inside, the MGS5 features a 12.8" HD Touchscreen, physical switches for AC and volume, a 10.25” display screen behind the steering wheel, a wireless charging port for the Trophy variant, and others. It seats up to five people, and with the passenger seats folded down, it gives a maximum of 1441 liters of boot space. Decent enough to meet your everyday situations.

The MGS5 is available with two electric vehicle (EV) powertrains: a 49kWh option for the SE model and a 64kWh option for the SE Long Range and Trophy Long Range models.

The 49kWh powertrain delivers 170 PS of power and 250 Nm of torque, with a 0-62 mph acceleration time of eight seconds, a top speed of 101 mph, and a maximum driving range of 211 miles. In contrast, the 64kWh powertrain offers 231 PS of power, 350 Nm of torque, accelerates from 0-62 mph in 6.3 seconds, reaches the same top speed of 101 mph, and provides a maximum driving range of up to 298 miles. Both estimated charging times from 10% to 80% are less than thirty minutes while plugged at a public charging station, but the lesser one is four minutes ahead.

Although being a RWD-only crossover, the MGS5 EV feels average in terms of driving feel, but being civilized on normal roads, it sure knows the meaning of common sense in a nutshell. Speaking of common sense, the MGS5 comes with MG Pilot, which features a wide variety of ADAS such as Blind Spot Detection and Rear Cross Traffic. The Trophy variant comes with the 360° HD Surround View Camera, where four wide-angle cameras reveal a full view of what's around the car.

The MGS5 EV meets the highest safety standards with seven airbags and a reinforced steel frame chassis. As for braking, the MGS5 comes with an advanced braking system made in collaboration with Continental and Bridgestone, allowing it to stop from 62mph to a standstill in 35.5 meters.

The first-ever MGS5 electric vehicle (EV) may not be the most thrilling crossover to drive, but it offers good value for money. People throughout England are eager to spend their hard-earned money on another practical crossover loaded with common sense. Does this crossover make sense to you?

Available Colors: Arctic White, Black Pearl, Piccadilly Blue, Camden Grey, Cosmic Silver, and Dynamic Red.

DS Automobiles N°8

2025 marks DS Automobiles' 10th Anniversary, and the French luxury brand of Stellantis is celebrating the occasion with...an all-electric coupe-crossover serving as the brand's flagship.

2026 DS N°8
2026 DS N°8

DS Automobiles has introduced its latest flagship model, the all-electric coupe-crossover known as the N°8, priced at €59,500. The name N°8 signifies a new beginning for DS Automobiles, which has been in operation for a decade. It's high time for the brand to adopt a new naming structure, as previous names like DS3 and DS9 have caused considerable confusion. Some models ended up being associated with the Dark Souls series, while others were mistakenly linked to Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.

2026 DS N°8
2026 DS N°8

Beginning with the exterior, the N°8 is the first to don DS Automobiles' new design language, judging by the implementation of the new DS logo on the front grille and the DS AUTOMOBILES lettering at the back. Although the front is as sharp as any other DS vehicle you come across, the side profile and the rear view can be easily mistaken for the Kia EV4. Long story short, but you get the point.

2026 DS N°8
2026 DS N°8 interior

Inside, the N°8 showcases the brand's reflection on French contemporary art in motion. Although it looks more like an abstract painting than a typical interior, the N°8 features an X-shaped steering wheel, bespoke center console, and a 16-inch integrated central display powered by DS IRIS SYSTEM 2.0, not to mention the panoramic glass roof and FOCAL Electra 3D Hi-Fi sound system. True to the DS mantra, the passenger space showcases its "out-on-a-limo" feel while offering boot space up to 620 litres.

2026 DS N°8
2026 DS N°8

The N°8 is the first all-electric vehicle from DS, incorporating the expertise of the DS Penske Formula E team. It is available in Front-Wheel Drive (FF) and All-Wheel Drive (4WD).

The Front-Wheel Drive Short Range variant, with 258 PS and a 73.7 kWh lithium battery, offers a driving range of 550 km. In contrast, the All-Wheel Drive Long Range variant delivers 375 PS and features a 97.2 kWh lithium battery, providing a range of 664 km. This variant accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.4 seconds, outpacing many standard Japanese cars and current Volvo models.

Although not as exciting to drive as expected, the comfort-tuned dynamics gave the DS N°8 a similar driving feel to a German luxury saloon, and being a French-made car full-stop, even with AWD, it feels exceptionally comfortable everywhere, even on tarmac, gravel, or snow, courtesy of its DS ACTIVE SCAN SUSPENSION system.

The DS N°8 features a one-pedal mode for drivers, allowing them to accelerate or brake without using the brake pedal. Regenerative braking is advantageous for this feature.

Being the most technologically advanced DS model to date, the N°8 is packed with night vision, digital rear vision, DS PIXELVISION, and DS DRIVE ASSIST 2.0, among others.

While it may seem disappointing that luxury car brands' first EVs are crossovers, the DS N°8 stands out in this trend. As another luxury EV crossover from Europe, the N°8 marks a bold beginning for DS Automobiles in its 10-year history. This is the DS that deserved to be auto-focused because it's a DS. Not those Dark Souls or Star Trek Deep Space nonsense, simply DS.

Available Colors: Bleu Topaze, Noir Perla Nera, Gris Palladium, Cristal Pearl, and Blanc Albatre.

Škoda Elroq RS

The first-ever Škoda Elroq EV crossover has gained the vRS variant, making it the second electric car to bear the vRS emblem since the Enyaq. To recall, the Škoda Elroq crossover represents a new chapter for Škoda. The key question is: Do you want to purchase this compact EV crossover that competes with the Hyundai IONIQ 5? Despite being less spacious than its Asian rival, the Elroq is affordable, and it's worth the shot, sort of. Has the vRS variant improved the Elroq's experience?

2026 Skoda Elroq RS
2026 Skoda Elroq RS

2026 Skoda Elroq RS
2026 Skoda Elroq RS

Starting at 1,269,000CZK plus additional costs, the first-ever Skoda Elroq RS elevates the Elroq to a sportier setting, giving customers something to get excited about, the crossover that aims squarely at the Hyundai IONIQ 5.

2026 Skoda Elroq RS interior

Although it looks and feels just like the normal Elroq, not to mention the boot space that is smaller than the IONIQ 5, the Elroq RS adds zest to the normal Elroq with its sporty aero design, lime green stitching, and sports seats.

The Skoda Elroq is still as aerodynamic as the normal Elroq, but the vRS is also armed with two electric motors and a 79kWh battery, giving it all-wheel-drive capability. The power output was bumped to 340PS of power and 679Nm of torque, giving it a 0-100kph time of 5.4 seconds and a top speed of a normal Japanese car. The driving range is around 546km based on WLTP standards.

Thanks to its lowered chassis, the Elroq vRS feels sporty to drive, and with its 4WD system, it feels okay even when you're feeling under the weather. It still packs XDS+, regenerative braking, and progressive control as the normal Elroq.

In terms of safety, the Elroq vRS boasts an extensive suite of driving technologies. These include Driving Assist 2.6, Predictive Cruise Control, Traffic Sign Recognition, Adaptive Lane Guidance, and Traffic Jam Assist. Additional safety features are the Emergency Assistant, automatic parking, saved parking maneuvers, remote parking, parking sensors with automatic braking, and a parking camera.

The vehicle also comes with a Panoramic Camera System, Front Assist, anti-collision assistant, Turn Assistant, blind spot monitoring, exit warning, proactive passenger protection, multi-collision brake, and driver fatigue detection.

Has the vRS variant improved the Elroq's experience? Sort of, as expected. Although drastically less than the Hyundai IONIQ 5N and as fast a a normal Japanese car, the Elroq vRS's dynamics really mean business almost everywhere. This is the Elroq that deserves to be driven.

Available Colors: Modra Energy, Seda Steel, Zelena Timiano, Cerna Magic metaliza, Modra Race metaliza, Stribrna Brilliant metaliza, Seda Graphite metaliza, Cervena Velvet metaliza, Bila Moon metaliza, and Zelena Mamba.

Audi Q6 e-tron Sportback

The Audi Q6 e-tron range demonstrated that crossovers are as popular as Hollywood superhero movies. While it may not be a superhero itself, it offers great value, costing less than its Porsche Macan sibling. With the addition of the Sportback variant, there's a lot to ask about it.

2025 Audi Q6 e-tron Sportback
2025 Audi Q6 e-tron Sportback

2025 Audi SQ6 e-tron Sportback
2025 Audi SQ6 e-tron Sportback

Starting at 65,900 Euros plus additional costs, the first-ever Audi Q6 e-tron Sportback is also the cheaper alternative to the second-generation Porsche Macan. Which sounds fair, but is it really worth it?

Like its normal equivalent, amid its coupe-like silhouette, the Q6 e-tron Sportback has taken a simpler approach, which is clean by Audi standards. It features matrix LED front headlamps, OLED rear taillights, the signature Audi Singleframe grille, and other notable details that make it sporty, progressive, and perfectly proportioned.

Step inside, the Q6 e-tron is packed with the MMI panoramic display consisting of an 11.9-inch virtual cockpit and a 14.5-inch touchscreen that controls almost the entire vehicle. There's even a 10.9-inch MMI front passenger display that can only be seen in the eyes of a front passenger, not the driver, for safety reasons. Thanks to its coupe-like silhouette, it slightly reduced the boot space from the normal one, resulting in 511 liters with the rear seats present, up to 1373 liters with the passenger seats folded down.

Running on the PPE platform and 100kWh battery pack, the Q6 e-tron Sportback's power output ranges from 292 to 387PS, with the latter sprinting from 0-100kph in 5.9 seconds and a top speed of 210kph. The mid-range variant packs the longest driving range with up to 637km on one full charge.

For those who want to push further, the SQ6 e-tron Sportback offers 462PS of power output when launch control is active. It can sprint from 0 to 100kph in 4.3 seconds and has a top speed of 230kph. Both variants are easy to drive everywhere, especially on asphalt, gravel, and snow. They also come equipped with Audi's suite of intelligent driver aids, including adaptive cruise assist plus, active front assist, traffic sign-based cruise control, park assist plus, and rear turn assist.

Normal or Sportback, the Audi Q6 e-tron holds a similar story, telling us that crossovers are as popular as Hollywood superhero movies. While it may not be a superhero itself, it offers great value, costing less than its Porsche Macan sibling. That's all I can say.

Mini Aceman John Cooper Works

The first-ever Mini John Cooper Works Aceman is an upgraded version of the Aceman designed for long-term driving. So, what can we expect from this all-electric JCW crossover?

Mini Aceman John Cooper Works
2025 Mini John Cooper Works Aceman

Yours for £36,905 plus additional costs, the John Cooper Works Aceman is the only JCW electric crossover you can buy for now. This EV hot crossover has the Alfa Romeo Junior and the Abarth 600e in its crosshairs and looks like it's ready for a new kind of fox hunt.

The JCW Aceman resembles the standard Aceman but features sporty JCW enhancements, including sport seats and distinctive design elements that set it apart. Since there is no five-door version of the J01 Mini JCW hatchback, the JCW Aceman fills the void. Nice one, MINI.

It utilizes the same 49.2 kWh battery pack found in the J01 Mini JCW hatchback, paired with a front electric motor. It delivers a power output of 258 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque. The car can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 6.4 seconds and has a top speed of 124 mph. Its driving range is between 214 and 242 miles.

Like the standard Aceman, it features front-wheel drive only, so it's not ideal for navigating gravel or snowy conditions. However, as a JCW model, it boasts sport-tuned dynamics, making it more engaging to drive compared to the regular Aceman. Just be prepared to stock up on ibuprofen and paracetamol for any discomfort!

Of course, the JCW Aceman features 12 ultrasonic sensors and four surround-view cameras that take advantage of its Parking Assistant and optional Parking Assistant Plus systems. It even comes with autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and Remote 360, among others.

The first-ever Aceman John Cooper Works is an exciting addition to the market. Although it is less powerful than its Italian competitors, the Junior and the Abarth 600e, its pricing offers great value. Be prepared to handle it with care, as this EV crossover is designed for a long day on the road with you behind the wheel.

Renault 4 E-TECH vs smart #5

The Renault 5 isn't the only Renault that made its comeback in the form of an electrified city car; the utilitarian-esque Renault 4 also returned as the crossover version of the said car.

2025 Renault 4 E-TECH
2025 Renault 4 E-TECH

Starting at 27,990 Euros plus additional costs, the revival of the Renault 4 is a 21st-century take on a utilitarian legend that promises to chart new paths for today's generation of drivers.

2025 Renault 4 E-TECH
2025 Renault 4 E-TECH interior

Beginning with the exterior, the new Renault 4 stays true to its ancestral roots with its styling. Apart from its blast-from-the-past styling, it has 18.1 ground clearance, a variety of wheels, and a choice of having roof rails or a canvas top. Renault says there are over 600 ways to make your Renault 4 unique. How will you style your Renault 4 E-TECH?

The Renault 4's interior is broadly similar to that of the revived Renault 5, meaning it packs an innovative openR 2x10" dashboard packed with over 50 onboard apps, including Google Maps. It even comes with its own in-car mascot named Reno, which pops up when you say the magic word "Hey Reno," it does whatever you ask, a la Amazon Alexa. It's disturbing but addictive.

Asked about the boot space, the 4 can carry up to 410L with the rear seats present, but with the passenger seats folded down, you can have up to 1405L of boot space. Ideal for various situations.

Now, let's talk about the E-TECH powertrain. The base model runs on a 40 kWh battery with 120 PS of power and a range of 322km. The range-topper uses a 52 kWh battery with 150 PS of power and 410km of driving range. It does 0-100kph in 8.2 seconds and flat-out in 150kph. Enough said.

Unfortunately, the Renault 4 E-TECH is available only as a front-wheel-drive model. Given the size of the electric drivetrain underneath, the vehicle may not provide the best handling dynamics, but given its utilitarian looks, it's about as French as a French car should be.

As always, the all-new Renault 4 boasts 26 advanced driver assistance systems and devices developed by Renault for efficient driving. These features include active driver assist, automatic emergency braking, lane departure detection with emergency trajectory correction, parking assist, safe occupant exit alert, and a driver attention monitoring system.

The Renault 4 E-TECH, like its 5 equivalent, is all about the past and the future coming as one with its heritage-inspired looks, futuristic technology, and the EV powertrain to ease your mind. However, if you are not happy with the new Renault 4, perhaps you can try its more expensive alternative, if that's your case.

2025 smart #5
2025 smart #5

2025 smart #5
2025 smart #5 interior

Welcome to the smart #5, the biggest smart car to date. With prices starting at 45,900 Euros plus additional costs, it's by no means the priciest in the new smart lineup.

Unlike the #1 and the #3, the #5 goes for the cubic design that feels like a Hyundai Casper mashed up with the front of a Kia crossover of some sort. As for the interior, the #5 boasts a dual touch screen setup to toy around with while not on the move.

Asked about the boot space, by surprise, it's bigger than the Renault 4 E-TECH, as expected. 630L with the rear seats present and up to 1530L with all seats folded down. You can sleep with it while on a camping trip, as long as you've got your insect repellent with you.

Like the others, the #5 runs on the SEA platform developed by Geely, and because of its RR layout and city car sizing, it behaves in a unique and spartan manner even while going nuts with it. The base variant has a 76 kWh battery pack with 340 PS of power, 373 Nm of torque, a 0-100 kph time of under seven seconds, a 200 kph top speed, and 465km of driving range. The Brabus model with its 100 kWh battery pack has 646 PS of power, 710 Nm of torque, a 0- 100 kph time of less than four seconds, a 210 kph top speed, and up to 540km of driving range.

For safety, the smart #5 features a wide array of advanced driver assistance features such as autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, lane centering assist, lane change assist, lane keeping assist, and blind spot monitoring, among many others.

So, there you have it. The smart #5 is the ideal EV compact crossover that does all the things you desire from city cruising to a trip to the woods, but if you can't afford the smart #5, you'd better be off with the cheaper Renault 4 E-TECH. These new EV compact crossovers may be different, but this is common sense in a nutshell. This is what the new normal feels like.

Genesis GV60 (2026MY Minor Change)

The Genesis GV60, the most luxurious of the E-GMP crossover trio—comprising the Hyundai IONIQ 5 and the Kia EV6—has undergone a minor update for the 2026 model year. While its arrival may be considered somewhat delayed, it's worth exploring the details of this recent facelift.

2026 Genesis GV60 interior

The Genesis GV60 has undergone a minor update, with a starting price of 68,360,000 Korean Won (approximately $70,000), in addition to any extra costs. This facelift serves as a reminder of what makes the Genesis original EV crossover an excellent blend of style and performance.

Beginning with the styling, the GV60 minor change features a revised front face that looks like it's feeling under the weather, but it's made to make it more city-oriented because the arches, the front chin, side skirts, and the rear skid plate are now in body color. The headlamps were revised to feature Micro Lens Array and 14 LEDs per side. The rear view is slightly revised, and it now features new 21-inch alloy wheels.

While retaining the GV60's signature Crystal Sphere that hides the rotary gear selector, the revised interior features a new steering wheel design as well as a new 27-inch panoramic screen that combines both the virtual instrumental panel and the infotainment touch screen on the dashboard.

As told from the day it was launched, the GV60 is almost as spacious as a Tesla Model Y in terms of passenger comfort and boot space, and although it is small for electric crossover standards, it's still sensible enough to accommodate up to five people and carry heaps of stuff for work or for another courtesy visit to the relatives.

The GV60 is offered with a choice of Standard RWD, Standard AWD, and Performance AWD. Both are armed with the 4th-generation high-voltage battery with 84kWh capacity. In the lesser variant, it has a range of 481km in one full charge and can take up to 18 minutes to charge from 10% to 80% while charging at a public charging station.

Opted for the Performance AWD powertrain, it comes with the Boost Mode located at the steering wheel. Push it on and you'll have 360kW of power and 700Nm of torque at your disposal. You can also engage the secret Drift Mode to give the GV60 the dynamics of a rear-wheel-drive car you can't get enough of.

The GV60 incorporates several advanced technologies, including the e-LSD, Active Road Noise Control, Regenerative Braking Control Paddle Shift, and Preview Electronically Controlled Suspension. These features help the vehicle adapt to the changing road conditions of today. While the rear-wheel-drive model offers a satisfying driving experience on urban streets, the all-wheel-drive variant excels in various environments, particularly when equipped with Drift Mode on the track—though some might find that a bit over the top.

In terms of safety, the GV60 includes the Digital Side Mirror and a comprehensive suite of safety technologies. Key features include Highway Driving Assist 2 with Lane Change Assist Control, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Rear-Side Collision-Avoidance Assist, Rear-Side Monitor, a Multiple Anti-Collision Automatic Braking System, Reverse Guide Lamp, Intelligent Headlamp, Safe Exit Assist, Advanced Rear Seat Passenger Notification, and Remote Smart Parking Assist.

The updated GV60 has undergone a facelift, refreshing the E-GMP crossover lineup. However, until the launch of the more powerful version inspired by the GV60 Magma Concept, the current model is the more expensive and less powerful option compared to today's Hyundai IONIQ 5 and Kia EV6. Still, whether you like it or not, for tech or for performance, for ecology or for pleasure, the GV60 is all about being the best of both worlds.

Kia EV4

The first-ever Kia EV4 is an all-electric medium sedan that promises to pick up where past Kia compact medium sedans such as the Sephia, the Spectra, the Cerato, the Forte, and the K3 left off. Let's learn more about Kia's newest EV compact medium sedan, which is bound to be the commoner's EV car.

2026 Kia EV4
2026 Kia EV4

Starting at 41,920,000 Korean Won plus additional costs, the first-ever Kia EV4 comes to life from concept to reality as an all-electric compact medium sedan that is sadly unrivaled because no one dared to make an EV compact midsize sedan like Kia's.

2026 Kia EV4
2026 Kia EV4

If it weren't for the Kia logo, someone could easily mistake the new EV4 at the front for a forgotten Toyota city car from several decades ago: the Will Cypha. Some have even questioned whether the styling is good enough to have inherited the concept car's looks in the mass-produced EV sedan. There are also doubts about the rearview's awkward appearance. Kia says the EV4's four-door format should be considered as a sedan but its potent and impactful lines represent not just another sedan, but an entirely new type of EV sedan that stands as a symbol of innovation.

2026 Kia EV4
2026 Kia EV4 interior

The interior is about as roomy as the now-defunct K3 it replaces. Behind the wheel, you will be treated by its 30-inch wide-screen with its 12.3-inch instrumental and a 12.3-inch touch screen with AI Assistant that controls the entire car from navigation to infotainment, not to mention the Vehicle Smart TV solution that allows you to watch Netflix, Disney+. YouTube, and other streaming services. It even comes with a Built-in Cam 2 Plus, which comes in handy in case of sweet potatoes.

On the passenger side, the EV4 packs numerous conveniences such as a pop-up sliding armrest table, an electrical outlet to plug your gadgets, a USB-C port, and a rear trunk that carries up to class-leading 490 liters of boot space. Common sense.

2026 Kia EV4
2026 Kia EV4

Let's dig through the EV4's all-electric capabilities. Powered by a choice of a 58.3kWh for standard range models, and an 81.4kWh battery pack for Long Range and GT-Line models, the front-mounted electric motor generates 150kW of power and 283Nm of torque. Standard Range models get up to 382km of driving range in one full charge while Long Range models get up to 533km of driving range. Not bad for an EV midsize sedan that weighs less than two tons. While the front-wheel-drive dynamics and its E-GMP platform are common sense to drive, the EV4 comes with the new i-PEDAL 3.0, the updated version of the i-PEDAL system that now comes with reverse function and memory function upon restart.

The EV4 features a wide array of advanced safety features such as a driver forward-facing camera, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Highway Driving Assist 2, steering wheel grip function, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist, Safe Exit Assist, Remote Smart Parking Assist, Intelligent Headlamp, and Surround View Monitor.

The first-ever Kia EV4 is all about convenience and common-sense driving done right. However, I should admit that, amid its unquestionable convenience and common sense, the car's looks and price tag are a different story. This EV is taking shape to fill the void left by the K3.

KGM Musso EV

The Musso has returned, but not as expected. The name familiar to 90s kids who grew up with their parents driving that vintage off-roader is now revived as the first electric vehicle (EV) pickup truck made in South Korea.

2026 KGM Musso EV
2026 KGM Musso EV

Starting at 48,000,000 Korean Won, plus additional costs, the first-ever KGM Musso EV may not be the revival that off-road enthusiasts were hoping for. However, it is high time that South Korea introduced an all-electric pickup truck, a venture that almost no one along the Silk Road has dared to undertake, not even the Europeans dared to make an EV pickup of their own.

2026 KGM Musso EV
2026 KGM Musso EV

Starting with its exterior, the Musso EV is a pickup version of the Torres EVX, particularly in its front design and overall dimensions shorter than the diesel-powered Musso truck range (previously known as Rexton Sports). Although it is similar in size to the Torres EVX, the Musso EV features the rhino badge on the side and the rear prominently displaying "KGM." Additionally, it is equipped with distinctive X-shaped taillights.

2026 KGM Musso EV
2026 KGM Musso EV interior

Inside, the Musso EV showcases its futuristic convenience for both the driver and passenger in its hot seat. On the driver's side, it's packed with the 12.3-inch digital cluster powered by the Athena 2.0 platform, a 12.3-inch KGM Link navigation & integrated controller, and ambient lighting, among others. Some would find it tricky to get a hold of its controls because everything from infotainment to climate control is operated via its touch screen.

On the passenger side, the second-row seats feature a 60:40 split-folding, three-step sliding, and reclining seat cushion function. A fire extinguisher and emergency triangle are placed on the back of the second-row seats.

The rear bed may be the smallest for an EV pickup but it's packed with a deck divider and an LED deck room lamp for organization purposes. It's good for up to 500kg of cargo, the same as the diesel-powered Musso Khan (formerly Rexton Sports Khan). That said, KGM offers a wide selection of accessories for the Musso EV such as rails and a canopy.

2026 KGM Musso EV
2026 KGM Musso EV

The vehicle is equipped with a BYD-derived LFP blade battery with a capacity of 80.6 kWh, enabling its 152 kW front motor to achieve an approximate driving range of 400 km. In the 4WD variants with its self-leveling system for better stability, while carrying goods at the back, the addition of a second motor boosts the total power output to 413 PS, making it the most powerful production vehicle in the KGM lineup. Additionally, it has a maximum towing capacity of 1.8 tons.

Underneath, the Musso EV is packed with front MacPherson Struts, rear independent multi-link suspension, and ventilated disc brakes. In its front-wheel-drive configuration, there's nothing special about driving one, but in its 4WD configuration, what can I say? Tarmac, gravel, or snow? Your guess is as good as theirs.

The Musso EV is packed with numerous safety features such as Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control (IACC), Intelligent Speed Control (ISA), Automatic Lane Change Function, Forward Collision Warning, Emergency Brake Assist, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Warning, Backward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Safe Distance Warning, Smart High Beam, Front Vehicle Departure Alert, and Careless Driving Warning.

The arrival of the first-ever KGM Musso EV is a remarkable achievement that few along the Silk Road have attempted. In fact, even Europeans have yet to produce their own electric pickup. While it may be smaller than its diesel-powered counterparts, it stands out in a league of its own.

Kia EV9 GT

Kia has been releasing some exciting new vehicles lately, and none is more noteworthy than the EV9 GT. This SUV doesn't need much introduction because it truly speaks for itself. As the most powerful three-row Kia SUV ever made, the EV9 GT sets a high standard for the brand. So, what makes Kia's latest heavyweight champion so remarkable?

2026 Kia EV9 GT
2026 Kia EV9 GT

With prices starting at an ultra-expensive 88,490,000 Korean Won plus additional costs, the Kia EV9 GT is the most powerful three-row Kia SUV ever made, a statement that can rattle the Western establishment with style and power in this brave new world.

At first glance, it looks identical to the lesser and basic EV9 GT-Line judging by its sporty exterior credentials that add some macho flair to this flagship EV SUV. Still, to make sure that this is the GT variant, it's been given proper GT badges, GT-signature lime brake calipers, and unique 21-inch wheels.

Inside, the EV9 GT adds a GT button on the steering wheel, GT-specific instrumentals, an exclusive performance timer, lime stitching, on all seats, 2-row premium relaxation seats, and front Alcantara premium sports seats, among others. This six-seater EV SUV is all about keeping its luxury status while going balls out on a track day in Inje or Yongin.

2026 Kia EV9 GT
2026 Kia EV9 GT

Powering the EV9 GT is a 99.8kWh battery pack powering its dual-motor setup. It unleashes 509PS of power output and 740Nm of torque, sprinting from a 0-100kph time of less than four and a half seconds and a top speed of 220kph. That sounds fast for a heavyweight EV SUV that can last for over 400km on one full charge and it gets even more interesting because for show-off purposes, the EV9 GT is armed with its signature Virtual Gear Shift and electric Active Sound Design. It even comes with the same e-LSD from the EV6 GT, which helps with cornering stability by limiting wheelspin to the tires with less grip while torque is electronically routed to the tires with more traction.

The EV9 GT comes with a driver-selectable electronic control system (ECS). Accessed via the Drive Mode button on the steering wheel, the driver can select three different driving modes: Normal, Eco, and Sport. There's even a My Drive mode where drivers can personalize the EV9 GT's driving style judging by the shock damping, steering, and brake feel.

As expected, the Kia EV9 GT offers a wide array of safety features, including high beam assist, Highway Driving Assist 2, navigation-based smart cruise control, Remote Smart Parking Assist 2, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Lane Keeping Assist 2, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist, and Rear Parking Collision Avoidance Assist.

Being the most powerful three-row Kia SUV takes guts to be one and this new heavyweight fighter is Ssireum on all four wheels. Trying to wrestle with this EV SUV on a track day is a challenging feat but for cruising, it feels like a normal EV9. Love it or hate it, the EV9 GT is the beast of Kia's SUV lineup and although silent, it demands respect.

Škoda Elroq

The Škoda Elroq crossover marks a new chapter for Škoda. The main question is: do you want to buy this compact EV crossover that competes with the Hyundai IONIQ 5?

2025 Skoda Elroq
2025 Skoda Elroq

Priced at 799,000Kč plus additional costs, the first-ever Škoda Elroq is a new beginning for the Czech carmaker as hinted by the new design that drew first blood while offering typical promises in its class for a compact EV crossover that is cheaper to own than the Hyundai IONIQ 5.

2025 Skoda Elroq
2025 Skoda Elroq

The Elroq introduces Skoda's new design direction, as showcased in the Vision 75 Concept from 2022. Notably, it is the first model to replace the Škoda logo on the front and the steering wheel with the lettering "ŠKODA." This change reflects a broader trend in automotive design. The Elroq is sized to appeal to the lower-middle-class market, which has become increasingly common in recent years.

2025 Skoda Elroq
2025 Skoda Elroq interior

Typical Volkswagen Group interior the Elroq dons, it packs typical high-tech features some will find it daunting to master such as the augmented heads-up display, virtual cockpit, large infotainment display, and some buttons for the hazard lights and climate control. In terms of space, it's surprisingly shorter and less spacious compared to the IONIQ 5, especially the 470L boot space with the rear seats present. However, with the passenger seats folded down, it has up to 1580 liters of boot space, the same as the IONIQ 5's. On the bright side, the Elroq packs conveniences such as the automatic unlocking function, a hands-free power liftgate, an electrically unlockable towbar, a scrapper, and an umbrella.

2025 Skoda Elroq
2025 Skoda Elroq

Although the sporty design gives the Elroq a drag coefficient of just 0.26, the most aerodynamic in its class, the rear-wheel-drive electric powertrain is offered with the choice of a 55kWh, 63kWh, and 82kWh battery pack. The latter produces 210kW of electric power and 545Nm of torque, sprinting from a 0-100kph time of 6.6 seconds, and goes as fast as an everyday Japanese car. Energy consumption is around 15kWh/100km.

Driving a rear-wheel-drive crossover like the Elroq requires a certain level of confidence, and it is equipped with a variety of features that enhance the driving experience. Highlights include XDS+, regenerative braking, and progressive control.

In terms of safety, the Elroq boasts an extensive suite of driving technologies. These include Driving Assist 2.6, Predictive Cruise Control, Traffic Sign Recognition, Adaptive Lane Guidance, and Traffic Jam Assist. Additional safety features are the Emergency Assistant, automatic parking, saved parking maneuvers, remote parking, parking sensors with automatic braking, and a parking camera.

The vehicle also comes with a Panoramic Camera System, Front Assist, anti-collision assistant, Turn Assistant, blind spot monitoring, exit warning, proactive passenger protection, multi-collision brake, and driver fatigue detection.

The Škoda Elroq crossover represents a new chapter for Škoda. The key question is: do you want to purchase this compact EV crossover that competes with the Hyundai IONIQ 5? Despite being less spacious than its Asian rival, the Elroq is affordable and it's worth the shot, sort of. Welcome to the new normal of Škoda.

Renault 5 E-TECH

The legendary Renault 5 made a comeback as an all-electric hatchback that promises to look as good as its ancestors. So, what's it all about the born-again Renault 5?

2025 Renault 5
2025 Renault 5

Priced at 23,990 Euros plus additional costs, the return of the Renault 5 in the age of the "new normal" is more than just welcoming back a legendary nameplate because this is the city car that adapts to the challenges of this unstable world we live in.

2025 Renault 5
2025 Renault 5

The all-new Renault 5 features a design inspired by concept cars while remaining true to its heritage. However, the five-door layout might disappoint purists who are familiar with the original Renault 5. Still, consistency is only part of the equation. The Renault 5 has also become the flagship vehicle for Renault's electric revolution.

2025 Renault 5
2025 Renault 5 interior

2025 Renault 5
2025 Renault 5 interior

Inside, the Renault 5 features an innovative openR 2x10" dashboard packed with over 50 onboard apps, including Google Maps. It even comes with its own in-car mascot named Reno, which pops up when you say the magic word "Hey Reno," it does whatever you ask, a la Amazon Alexa. It's disturbing but addictive.

Regarding space, the reborn R5 has a boot space of 326 to 1106 liters, which is more than the outgoing Twingo E-Tech and more spacious.

2025 Renault 5
2025 Renault 5

Now, let's talk about the E-TECH powertrain that serves as the beating heart of the 21st-century Renault 5. The base model runs on a 40kWh battery with 120PS of power and a range of 312km. The range-topper uses a 52kWh battery with 150PS of power and 410km of driving range. It does 0-100kph in eight seconds and flat-out in 150kph. Enough said.

Unfortunately, the Renault 5 E-TECH is available only as a front-wheel-drive model. Given the size of the electric drivetrain underneath, the vehicle may not offer the best handling dynamics. While it performs well in city driving, it can be less enjoyable during a Sunday afternoon track day.

As always, the all-new Renault 5 boasts 26 advanced driver assistance systems and devices developed by Renault for efficient driving. These features include active driver assist, automatic emergency braking, lane departure detection with emergency trajectory correction, parking assist, safe occupant exit alert, and a driver attention monitoring system.

What can I say about the reborn Renault 5? While it doesn't quite resemble its ancestors, it's exciting to see the iconic nameplate return in the 21st century as a symbol of Renault's electrification revolution. Will it ignite a French motoring revolution? Only time will tell.
