Gran Turismo World Series 2026 Round 1

The 2026 edition of the Gran Turismo World Series kicked off in front of a sold-out audience in Milan. New and returning competitors took part in the opener, where the fight to become the best Gran Turismo player begins.

Before the season began, viewers were introduced to the June 2026 update for Gran Turismo 7. This update included four World Endurance Championship (WEC) hypercars: the Porsche 963, the Ferrari 499P, the BMW M Hybrid V8, and the Peugeot 9X8. Additionally, it featured a 992.1-spec Porsche 911 Turbo Safety Car.

Beginning with the Manufacturers Cup, last year's champion, Jose Serrano, representing Porsche, delivered a controversial win against Ferrari's Maximilian Kroll in the fight to the finish at the Nurburgring Nordschleife Endurance II track. Jack Balding, representing Mercedes-AMG, completes the first Manufacturers Cup podium of the new season.

In the Nations Cup, meanwhile, two Spaniards in Monza fight to the finish with Pol Urra defeating Jose Serrano for the first Nations Cup win of the season, while Takuma Miyazono settles for third place.

The next round of the 2026 GTWS will be in Tokyo's Polyphony Digital studio on August 15, 2026.
