From the EQ900 to the GV60 Magma, this is what a decade of Genesis looks like. Korea's luxury division of the Hyundai Motor Group has transformed into a rising star in the luxury car market, which is primarily dominated by German manufacturers. To mark such an occasion, it's time for a quick decade recap on Genesis.

EQ900 (2015) - The Genesis brand was launched in 2015 with its first model, a flagship sedan called the EQ900. Served as the replacement for the Hyundai Equus, the EQ900 focuses on the brand's "Human-Centered Luxury" philosophy, delivering cutting-edge technology and a more lively driving feel to indulge with. It is offered in three different engine choices, ranging from V6 3.3-liter T-GDI (370PS); V6 3.8-liter GDI (315PS); or V8 5.0-liter GDI (425PS), all mated with an 8-speed automatic with lock-up torque converter.
New York Concept (2016) - The New York Concept is Genesis brand's first concept car showcased at the 2016 New York International Auto Show. It previews the brand's future design approach.
G80 (2016) - What used to be the second-generation Hyundai Genesis was renamed the Genesis G80. Launched in the summer of 2016, the G80's styling is more of a refined version of the old Hyundai Genesis, which used to be called. Under the hood, the G80 still offers two V6 petrol engines available such as the V6 3.3 Lambda and the V6 3.8 Lambda engine. By autumn, the G80 Sport is offered, packed with the similar 3.3L V6 T-GDi engine from the EQ900, which produces 370PS of power output. They're both mated with a revised 8-speed automatic transmission with a lock-up torque converter.
GV80 Concept (2017) - Showcased at the 2017 New York International Auto Show, the GV80 Concept previews the brand's first SUV, which became a reality three years later.
G70 (2017) - The G70 is the baby of the Genesis sedan range and it runs on the same bits and bobs from the Kia Stinger. It is powered by either a 2.2L CRDi-VGT engine with 202PS of power output, a 2.0L Turbo GDi engine with 255PS of power output, and a 3.3L Turbo V6 engine producing 370PS of power and 52kgf-m of torque. All are mated to an 8-speed AT. This car was launched in 2017 and gained a big minor change three years later.
Essentia Concept (2018) - Showcased at the 2018 New York International Auto Show, the Essentia Concept is a two-door electric sportscar that previews the new face of the Genesis brand.
G90 (2018) - The Genesis that started it all, the EQ900, is replaced by the G90 in 2018, which is basically a heavily updated version of the car it replaces. While it now dons the Essentia-style nose, not to mention the most dramatic styling in a Korean luxury car, the inside of the G90 remains the same as the outgoing EQ900 as are the choice of engines.
Mint Concept (2019) - Showcased at the 2019 New York International Auto Show, the Mint Concept is a tiny luxury hatchback that showcases the future of mobility the Genesis way.
GV80 (2020) - Genesis started the year 2020 with the first-ever SUV called the GV80. A bold take on the ever-popular German luxury crossovers of its size such as the BMW X5, the Audi Q7, and the Mercedes-Benz GLE. It is the first to incorporate the new Genesis look inspired by the logo.
G80 (2020) - In the midst of the full-blown pandemic that swept the world like a tsunami, the second-generation Genesis G80 was launched in March and it is the second Genesis to don its new signature look first derived from the GV80. It is the most technologically-advanced G80 ever made and the most enjoyable to drive thanks to its three all-new engines starting from the brand new turbocharged 2.5L engine producing 304PS of power and 43kg-m of torque, the brand new turbocharged 3.5L V6 engine producing 380PS of power and 54kg-m of torque, and the new 2.2L diesel engine producing 210PS of power and 45kg-m of torque. All are mated to an 8-speed automatic.
GV70 (2020) - Launched in December 2020, the GV70 is the second SUV from Genesis and it's the first vehicle to come with biometrics for added security. Under the hood, the GV70 offers a choice of engines ranging from the 2.2L diesel, the 304PS Smartstream G 2.5T engine, and the range-topping 3.5L V6 turbo engine with 380PS of power. All of these engines are mated to an 8-speed automatic.
X Concept (2021) - Showcased at the private event in Los Angeles, the Genesis X Concept previews the luxury brand's sports car.
Electrified G80 (2021) - Based on the RG3 G80, it's Genesis's first EV saloon featuring an electric motor is connected to an 87.2kWh battery pack, producing 272kw of power and 700Nm of torque. It does 0-100kph in 4.9 seconds, and it has a driving range of 427km. In terms of charging, the Electrified G80's battery power can be replenished from 10% to 80% in just 22 minutes on a 350kw rapid charging station.
GV60 (2021) - The Genesis GV60 is an original electric vehicle (EV) that is built on the same E-GMP platform used in the Hyundai IONIQ 5 and the Kia EV6. In its standard rear-wheel-drive configuration, the GV60 features an electric motor that delivers 168 kW of power and 350 Nm of torque, with a range of 451 km on a full charge. With the additional second electric motor to the front, the vehicle becomes all-wheel drive (AWD) and produces a combined output of 234 kW of power and 605 Nm of torque; however, this configuration reduces the range to 400 km. Opting for the Performance AWD powertrain, which is equivalent to that found in the Kia EV6 GT, provides a Boost Mode at the steering wheel. When activated, this mode allows for an impressive 360 kW of power and 700 Nm of torque. Additionally, the GV60 features a special Drift Mode, which enhances the driving dynamics for a rear-wheel-drive experience that is truly exhilarating.
G90 (2021) - The second-generation G90, announced in November 2021, discontinued the V8 engine model and is now only available with a 3.5L V6 turbo engine that delivers a maximum output of 380 PS and a maximum torque of 54 kgf-m. This engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and operated with an electronic shift dial. The long-wheelbase version is equipped with a 48V electric supercharger.
X Convertible Concept (2022) - Unveiled at a private event in Concept, the X Convertible is one of the Genesis X trilogy of concepts.
X Speedium Concept (2022) - Unveiled at an event in New York, it is one of the Genesis X trilogy of concepts and a revised version of the one seen in Los Angeles in 2021. The Speedium name is derived from one of South Korea's racetracks.
Electrified GV70 (2022) - Based on the GV70 crossover, the all-wheel-drive Electrified GV70 features an electric powertrain that includes two electric motors, each generating 160 kW of power and 350 Nm of torque. When both motors are engaged in Boost Mode, they combine to produce a total power output of 360 kW and 700 Nm of torque. This impressive performance allows the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds, rivaling the speed of a German saloon. In terms of range, the Electrified GV70 offers up to 400 km, which is sufficient for a trip from Seoul to Busan, with some extra capacity to explore Busan's landmarks.
G70 Shooting Brake (2022) - The G70 Shooting Brake, initially offered only in Europe, is offered in South Korea in 2022 with a catch. Unlike the sedan version, the G70 Shooting Brake is offered only with the 2.0L Turbo GDi engine with 252PS of power output, while mated to an 8-speed AT. Fuel economy is a combined 10.4km/L for FR variants and 9.7km/L for 4WD variants.
GV80 Coupe Concept (2023) - The concept model previews a potential coupe version of the GV80.
GV80 Coupe (2023) - From concept turned reality, the GV80 Coupe is the addition to the facelifted GV80 range. The GV80 2024MY minor change features an all-petrol lineup consisting of a Smartstream G2.5T engine sourced from today's Hyundai Santa Fe MX5, producing 304PS of power and 43kgf-m of torque, and the ultra-powerful Smartstream G3.5L V6 turbo engine producing 380PS of power and 54kg-m of torque.
Genesis X Gran Berlinetta VGT Concept (2023) - Unveiled at the Gran Turismo World Series 2023 World Finals, this concept features the ultimate expression of Genesis' signature design elements that debuted on the GV80 crossover in January 2020, such as the quad lights and the grille inspired by the Genesis logo. It even sports a Magma exterior color that first appeared in the GV80 Coupe Concept, the exterior color that no production Genesis model has, as of now. Powering this concept is a twin-charged Lambda II V6 engine that produces 870HP of power, and with the electric motor synchronizing the petrol engine, it produces a total output of 1071HP.
Neolun Concept (2024) - The Genesis Neolun Concept previews the brand's flagship luxury crossover.
Genesis X Gran Racer Vision Gran Turismo (2024) - Unveiled at the 2024 Busan International Motor Show, it is essentially a racing version of the X Gran Berlinetta VGT Concept.
GMR-001 Concept (2024) - The establishment of Genesis Magma Racing showcased its trump card, the LMDh competitor called the GMR-001. This machine is set to compete at the 2026 WEC season as well as IMSA in 2027. Andre Lotterer and Pipo Derani are its drivers for the LMDh project, with Jamie Chadwick serving as reserve and test driver.
Genesis X Gran Coupe Concept/Gran Convertible Concept (2025) - The X Gran Coupe Concept and X Gran Convertible Concept are variations of Genesis' flagship model, the G90. Both concepts showcase the brand's future as an emotional luxury brand through unique designs.
X Gran Equator Concept (2025) - The X Gran Equator concept showcases the off-roading side of the Genesis brand.
GV60 MIV Concept (2025) - The Genesis GV60 Mountain Intervention Vehicle (MIV) Concept was unveiled at the 2025 World Economic Forum in Davos, showcasing the brand's technology and design innovations.
Magma GT Concept (2025) - The Magma GT Concept showcases Genesis Magma's high-performance capabilities in a supercar setting.
G90 Wingback Concept (2025) - Inspired by the RS4 G90, the Wingback Concept reimagines the G90 as a boxy station wagon. This design serves as a celebration of the Genesis brand's 10th anniversary.

GV60 MAGMA (to be available in 2026) - The GV60 Magma is the first production model of the Genesis Magma racing program. Thanks to its improved electric drivetrain, at the push of the Magma button, it produces 650PS of power.
